Your hair looks great and the method sounds very interesting! So no glue? I have wefts glued in using LG but I think I might try your method. Where did you get the shells/locks?
Love the texture of yours after the wash, T. Looks like you can wash
n' go. Extensions-Plus has totally lost my business now that I have
this RK Hair.
I'm gearing up for a new install, conditioning my head every day and
I trimmed about 10-12" off my PH getting ready for the take down
next week (it's like NEW haar after a trim!).
I've got about all my RK tipped and I can't wait to start playing again
with the blow dryer and curling iron. Sounds crazy to want to do all
the work again but I'm missing my hair rituals with this maintenence
free PH.
Question for you stylists (and those in the know out there) -- what's a
really good straightening iron? The kind that will take this Indian hair
straight with one pass?
Very pretty, Sand. It's a beautiful color, and there's just something
about the way wefts fall that is very, very appealing. How often do you
think you'd need to redo it with this method?
AMM: I think everyone's going to disagree with me on this, but I've had
the most luck with cheapie metal (not ceramic) flatirons. I know
ceramic is *supposed* to get hotter, but I always find myself having to
go over the sections a zillion times with them. (I haven't used all
that many flatirons, though, so I'm sure others will have some ideas).
For example, my metal Hot Tools iron works much better than the ceramic
Rusk one I have (this may only apply to these brands, though).
Question for you stylists (and those in the know out there) -- what's a really good straightening iron? The kind that will take this Indian hair straight with one pass?
This is my pick! The one with the comb built in! Solano Sapphire!!!
I had an iron I got at Sally's and the thing popped and threw a spark right into my hair the last time I used it. I'm not sure what kind of plates they were but they were orange colored and shiny. I had to pass it over my hair multiple times and never got the hair as soft and straight as I wanted.
wearing the wefts the way i do, there is a down side. The ends slip Alot, and they do come undone in the center sometimes. I usually have to redo the corners 1 time a week, which takes a second to throw a shell in and close it again. I have one of my gals do my hair otherwise, and i usally get in her chair about every other week for 20 mins or so. i trained her so she does it my way and its real quick, i can move them up myself or even throw a shell in the middle if i have to. I rather have it done. And being in the salon, i have an advantage, although i Do pay her each time. I dont want any of my stylists think i am taking advantage of them.
I have a few clients that we use wefts, for them they come in once a mth and the maintance(move up ) is about 30 mins i can move up about three or four wefts, sometimes we just take them out and start all over again.
to anchor the weft with the cylinder, i use a strand of hair.
i personally prefer the thickness of the weft hair, more hair per square inch as opposed to individuals, and i do tend to check the individuals too much and can slide them out, so for that reason, i like the wefts, far as maintance for them its more time in the chairm, more often i should say. Its always a time thing for me- i have none during my work day.
i might go back to individuals one of these days.
Rk hair- its lovely, however~ it DOES tangle. i run my fingers thru it and its tangled, and then there is shedding.
i think i might take out the wefts, and sew two of them together and reapply them the same way, i like Thick Thick hair.
i swear i fee like a friggin hair junkie, i need more and more...just a bit more, add more, gosh you would think i was adicted to hair....
Oh wait a minute- I AM
