Ok ladies, I'm 8 weeks post relaxer. Last time and a few times before I've stretched 10-12 weeks. However, Not only do I have more newgrowth, but it's alot thicker than before. Plus, when I last relaxed, I scratched my scalp the day before and the front section had relaxer on it for only about 2 minutes (because where I scratched began to burn.) Therefore, my back is a little more manageable and my front is three textures: relaxed, semi-relaxed, and curly new growth. Do you think I should stretch it still or relax??
Right now I've been washing and putting it in a bun, but it's so thick it's not laying down right. What would you recommend if you've had this problem before??
I'm 9 weeks post and I'm having that same problem with my buns. What I
do is wash my hair in the evening and then when I make the bun I tie it
down with a scarf and sleep on it. In the morning it's not as poufy.

When I *stretched* to 9 1/2 weeks (that was stretching for me) I soaked the new growth with S-curl then slicked it in a ponytail and covered that bad boy with a scarf for like 20 minutes (advice given to me by SistaSlick- who has some GORGEOUS hair!!!). When I took the scarf off, I put some oil over it although now sometimes I'll use EQP Mango Butter cuz it's thicker/heavier and I don't really care about how greasy my hair is as long as it's moisturized and growing besides, it's in a ponytail anyways. I hope it helps you too.
Thanks for responding. I always use the scarf method when I bun my wet hair. I washed it Thursday night and tied it down with a scarf all night, but still had some poof!! I even rewet and moisturized my hair to do it again. Not working. I think I just have so many textures going on it's making it hard to keep under wraps. I might try the S-curl again and see how that helps.
Try using a mixture of hair lotion and gel...put it on the front wedges while wet and brush and then style your hair the way you want it...after that cover with a head wrap.
