yeah sorry sharon I have to agree.mixing products is very chancy.Your results could be bad and potentialy dangerous.Ekatherine has been nothing but helpful since I've been a member. And i'm sure she was before too.I myself apprecciate the time she takes to give her usually well needed advice..

Oh lol sorry guys if i came across as giving advice like mixing two different products, i told sharon after to get the clairol color gloss ALONG w/ the clairol activating lotion. I feel responsible, i'm genuinely sorry

I think sharon also said she was going to use the clairol stuff bought at sally's in her shade choice to "tone" down the highlights, i hope this clears up some of the misunderstanding

Katherine, i hope ur not annoyed at me for recommending the clairol color gloss, i realize its mainly for pros but since its sold at sally's i thought i'd tell sharon abt it.

Peace~

I don't have any objection to people using pro products. They just need to know how to use them properly, and often they aren't going to get the info from the package. It requires a slightly higher level of user responsibility than Nice'n'Easy.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

Part of the reason the mixture turned dark is that it had fully processed.  Once you mix color and developer together, it only lasts for maybe an hour, then the chemical reaction is finished.  Each time you want to apply, you need to mix up a new batch and apply it ASAP.

I think Veronica gave good advice...I love Clairol Colorgloss.  It's really gentle, so I think you'll be fine--just use the developer that's specifically made to work with it.  If your highlights are still to brassy for you, choose and ash shade.  If you just want them darker, choose a neutral shade.  Be aware that Colorgloss shades run much darker than you think they will (especially the ash ones).  e.g. 6A says dark ash blonde but it's really a light ash brown...like a level 5.  Mix two colors together, if they don't have the exact shade you want.

I made sure i provided the instructions that went w/ the colorgloss, i got it from the clairol site so that should help her out since they're straightforward

Meanwhile I didn't realize they had such cool red shades in clairol colorgloss!
