Advice needed! CLIENTS HAIR BREAKING!!!!

Help! Need advice.  I have been doing hair extensions for 4 years and never once had this problem.  I use fusion method and use a generous amount of hair of the customers and an even section of extension therefore plenty of strength to hold the bond.  I also only do extensions on customers who have a healthy root and check with them beforehand if they are on any medication / have alopecia or on chemo.

Only, this one customer has what looks like the root of her hair shedding (in one or 2 strands in a bunch of around 20-30).  Now i know hair sheds but surely not from the root like this, like i say i have never seen this before.  It is only happening on the top row of extensions, its the first time the customer has had them done and when i installed them i went thriough an aftercare programme with her which she has been following....

..hold middle firmly and brush ends first working way up

..shes using the correct brush

..not pregnant / no alopecia / chemo or obvious hair loss / no medication other than pill

 

help! What do i do? 

 

Its not the bond thats breaking its above that so any method like fusion, shrinkies, micro-rings will have the same effect and i have offered to re-fit soing micro weaves but she wants to try to avoid removing them as she loves them.

any advice would be appreciated?

she only wears it down or in a loose french pleat. 

It is so bizare and ive ran out of suggestions.  I know alot of people have bad reports about fusion but this is entirely different and i have never came across this.

 

Anymore suggestions anyone?

Yeah! what is it thats happening Amanda?

I get this ALL the time.

It is pulling from the root. Even if the hair is kept loose ... sleeping,
combing and washing are the things that cause it ... and also putting
hair up or back.

It's as if the hair pops out of the folicle at the slightest pressure.

I find that it happens less with microrings installed well away from
the scalp ... but is REALLY bad with braids, a single braid with about
50 strands of my own hair, after a week the braid is only being held
by 10 or so

Does she have dry scalp? ... that can also be a cause.

If her hair cannot handle loose extensions then I'm not sure a weave
is the best way to go.

How about clips ins that she can take out at night and comb
seperately.

One of sensational's instant weave, these are fantastic.

I'd just take out the top row or leave it for a bit and see if the problem gets any worse.  Its usually just the initial few in my experience then it just stops xxx

Intsant weaves and instant pony's are a life saver for me. It's where
the hair is attached to a net base with combs at the front and at the
back. You use your natural hairline to cover the attachment. You can
use the combs to attach, or sew it on if you wnat something more
permanent. A friend of mine attaches it using micro rings around the
front, sides and the back.

Takes about 2 minutes.

There are a few brands knocking about, but I like Sensationnel's
range.

Shel, like Amanda said my own hair is perhaps a bit unruly.  I wouldn't say i have been over brushing it but do straighten the top section of may hair quite a bit to help it blend in and also sometimes suffer from a dry scalp!!

It is definitely a case of my crappy hair and not the way the extensions were done as you did such an amazing job Shel

I dunno, maybe I should leave it a bit like Amanda said and see if it 'just stops'??

I so don't want them out as i love them

I am just really paranoid now when brushing as my scalp is now really tender due to this problem x.

what if i take the full top row out then chick and leave the rest for the moment and you can update me?
