How to get back to this?...PICTURES!!!! *

I have been spending the past 5 months going blonde and now that I'm finally 'jessica simpson' blonde I really want to go back to dark brown. I already have dark roots and I JUST got it done yesterday (I went for the highlights all over). I would like to dye it back to a dark brown but am afraid that it will cause damage since I don't know anything about hair. I can afford to go back to my stylist but I was hoping to find something maybe semi-permanent for a few weeks before I go back since I don't want to go right back, just something for a few weeks that wont turn orange.

I've only been getting highlights for the past 5 months EVER in my life and I have thick hair that has taken straightening irons all of my life. What do you guys think and will it fade quickly? I have very dark brown hair I'd like to go back to and let it just grow out, is that possible? Thanks ya'll!!! :)

The reason you already have roots is because it is highlights.  They sometimes have difficulty getting them very close to the head.  If you went for all over color you should only have to do your roots every 2-3 weeks (I say that for if you like the blonde and would otherwise want to keep it but for the roots).

LongHairDreams' advice sounds good to me (I'm no pro either).  I think I'd probably let a salon do it since you can, and you should be able to ask them to do semi-permanent instead of permanent if you want it.

Hello! I think you have made a wise decision, with your coloring dark hair looked more flattering. The blonde is a nice shade, but as a brunette you stand out more, IMHO. Go to a professional if you do decide to go dark brown. When I went from light blonde to dark brown (yeah, it was during that experimental weird phase in college) they had to "fill" my hair with something that had a red base before they could color it dark, otherwise it can turn green. Definitely go to a pro for this if you want to go significantly darker. Otherwise, if you just want to go to a light golden brown you could try a semi or demi permanent color from Sally's. It will last longer than it would on virgin hair because your cuticle is porous, but at least that way it would be a slow transition if you do decide you want to be a brunette again.

Dyeing it dark should not be that damaging (relatively speaking) because they should not have to use that high of a peroxide. At the point you are at, it is more about depositing color and not lifting. Lifting color is where most of the damage occurs but you have already done the damage, so to speak. Plus your hair will look shinier, I know mine did after I colored it dark, it reflects light better so it will not look damaged. Good luck!

If you are going to use feria be sure that you are not going to change your mind. Feria is really hard to remove if you dont like it..
