This is RK Hair Deepwave #2 in 28 inches.  I usually wear 24 so I overshot in case of split ends and if they shorted me.  I didn't notice splits, but the hair measures 24 out of the box, 26 wet. I expected that though. I've rarely ordered a 24 that was really 24 inches. #2 looks exactly like #4 in Hollywood.

All the pictures are here. http://public.fotki.com/cherrycoke/rkhair/

It's still wet right now, so I will post the pictures after I wash later tonight.  So what I understand, this is hair from one donor?  Just like the hair from Indianhairs  but they just permed and colored it, right?

Cherry, does the ends of your superwavy get curly are are they basically straight? Looking at your pix (pre wash), it looks like your ends are like my superwvy ends, not curly. Wow, u got long hair.

EDIT: is your RK super wavy #2? Wow it's light. My deepwavy #2's are extremely light also for what I'm used to.

This superwavy hair is taking FOREVER to dry. I still can't see what its going to look like for sure..but I dont think that supercurly is going to be very curly. So far it kinda looks like deepwave after you've worn it for a few months.    The #2 on the superwavy is lighter than the deepwave #2. It's crazy.  MY #2 deepwave seems darker than your #2 deepwave.  My deepwave #2 looks exactly like most #4's..but the superwave looks a bit like a #6.  Their colors are goofy as hell.  Yeah I got super long hair because I wanted to make absolutely sure I got at LEAST 22.  This 28 inch is only 24.  I bet if I had gotten 24 it would have been 20 or less.

Koffee Brown, I put up the photos of the superwavy washed and dried.  It's not very curly. They shouldnt call it superwavy, they should call it kindawavy. I was all hoping it would be tighter than a deep wave.  Your's is definitely curlier than mine.    Does yours have a lot of white hairs in it?  I don't think its from being bleached out. They look like they are grey. They probably use all their grey old lady hair to make the colored packs. lol  The deepwave lost a lot of its curl after I washed it.  Would this deepwave mix with naturegirl at all or is it totally off?  Im worried I wont have enough naturegirl because I wear a TON of hair and was hoping to have something to mix with it, but I dont think this stuff will work.

So was your naturally curly stuff all clean? Didn't find any crawlies?

Wow,  I love the Superwavy.

I've read on another boars that indian/rk hairs do not blend in well with coarse type 4 hair

I have relaxed, coarse, type 4 hair.  Even though Superwavy has been processed to get that texture, do you think it would be a good match for my hair type as it looks more coarse and not so silky?

Cherry, all my hairs were clean of nits , etc. The RK and even the IHair order. Last time I ordered IH, it was full of nits! yuck. But this time I didn't see nary a one. And i had it under the microscope, lol.

My superwavy is anything but SUPER wavy.  I thought super wavy would be supercurly for some reason Wink. U say mine looks curlier than yours, but I don't think mine is that curly either.

And my deep wave lost most of the curls after washing too. I don't know about blending that w/ NG, it might work w/ one of the wavy textures, but I think NG's curly textures are too curly to match w/ deep wavy. The deep wave is my least favorite, BTW.

EDIT: Yes, I had  grays in my superwavy bunch

Yeah, the quest for the perfect curly hair. Foiled again.  After washing them all, I've discovered none of them really have much of a curl.  The deepwave looked really pretty when I broke it up before washing..but now they they have that white girl hair with a real deadperm curl to it.  Well I'm technically a white girl, but I got some seriously unwhite hair. :)   But it does look like straight hair with a dead limp perm. I don't know how anyone could do their entire head 2 packages of the handtied deepwave.  I think I would need 5 packages to get it as full as I wanted.  So I am not really happy with my order, although I thought I was before I got the deepwave all washed and dried.

Flamingo, I think the superwavy would work for more textured hair. Definitely more than normal curly indian or the deepcurl.   Just don't expect much curl definition.

has anyone tried any curl products on the hair? I can make my really straight hair pretty wavy by putting on a curl enhancing gel and scrunching while air drying. So I wonder if it would help define the curl in the RK hair that already has some curl or wave?

Sherrie is right about products. That might be why my superwavy hair looks curlier than your s Cherry. I put some leave in conditioner on it in those pix. Today i played more and put some real products on it (KMS Curl Up, Phytocurl and some Phyto defrisant). And that does make it curlier. I'm not totally unhappy w/ my hair order, just not happy with the curls. I can still use the hair-- except for the deepwave, I really hate those deepwave curls and that one I won't use. But overall, no real complaints based on prices. It's not NGirl for sure, but it's acceptable. Product is key tho

Yeah I've used product and it did perk it up a bit.  It's still just kinda that z-wave. I'm just into that huge giant curly look.  Nothing can be worse than wearing Hollywood Pro which is what I did before.  This hair is very nice hair, soft and healthy.  I do would recommend it highly .. just the curl isn't curly enough if you have really natural curls you want to match.  It's kinda sheddy. I think the handtied is shedding worse than the machine.  Weird.  Any good ideas on how I can reinforce it? Clear nail polish safe?

Cherry,

I use No Sew Fabric Glue.  I buy it in Walmart in craft section. It dries clear, it is soft, washable and holds pretty good. But it takes at least o/n to dry.

I just received my RK deep wavy, 24", in 613, hand tied.  It looks very pretty so far. I will keep you posted.

When I used to reinforce, I used "Fray Check" also found in sewing section of stores. I hate reinforcing tho..

I just washed my RK hair. It looks even better after washing.  How is super wavy compare to deep wavy?  Does it have much more volume? I also need advice about blending.  I am trying to avoid cutting, I am not good at it. Do you think if I buy RK single drawn and put it on the top, leaving double drawn on the bottom, it would look like natural layers?

Maybe I'll get some fray check. I hate reinforcing but I hate shedding like benji even more.

hhhh, Superwavy has more volume. It has a bit more of an ethnic feel to it.
