Okay. I have added another bad idea to a string of poor hair color decisions. I have been trying to get my hair back to my natural color. I am a dirty blond, probably ash. I had a stylist do a color weave with a warm 7 and a few highlights. I ended up very orange. she tried to tone it and it didn't help much. So she put a darker color on it. Then I was very dark underneath and okay on top. Time faded it, I went to the stylist a few days ago with regrowth. I asked about coloring over everything and she convinced me to just add a few blond highlights on my crown to help blend the regrowth. Now I am yellow brassy blond on top (way to much blond) with a warm dark blond underneath. I really would like to be darker, but am afraid of what the blond will do. I can't afford to go back to the stylist and honestly have decided to look for a new stylist. Can I put a 7 or 8 dark blond semipermanent over it? Any help with be appreciated.
First you should probably let it fade, you can use Tide for washing the hair, that'll speed of the fading process aswell as using deep conditioner. You may also try a blue base blonde semi or demi permanent toner level 7 or 8 or 9 when your current toner has faded a bit.

Hi, I have been coloring my 100% gray hair a permanent dark brown, with
no problem. I also did highlights with excellent results. I
placed them not to close to my scalp. And I only keep them in
maybe 15 minuets. I used Lorel couleur experte, 5.0.
I do not want strong highlights, just suttle. So I
have been happy with my highlights. Now the highlights are 2 1/2
down my head. Can I color over them with a medium brown color and
then go back and highlight again.
Thanks for any information,

do not color over your light highlights with a medium brown color. this
would cause them to turn into dark brown to black lowlights. which
actually could look nice, but i doubt thats the look you were going
for. what you should do is get yourself a nice light brown demi
permanent (in otc, think natural instincts) in the same color family as
your desired dark brown (if the dark brown is ash, get an ash light
brown. if the dark is warm, get a warm light brown. get the picture?)
and put that on the ends where the highlights are. this should not
lighten the darker hair at all, and it will make the highlights belnd
better. or, you could use the wand that comes in the kit of loreal
coleur experte and just place the bleach on the roots in the same
position as the hightlights. kinda like "extending" the highlights up
to the scalp area.
learn to love what you were born with
you can do anything if you set your mindto it (just dont try this with hair, that could turn out bad)
