Hey all! Hope everyone's doing well. I was experimenting w/ my hair and I decided to see if I can style my hair in my usual updo without using my comb. So I finger-styled my hair using a simple hair spray and I made sure the hair wasn't knotted, just as comb would comb out the hair, and it worked just fine, looked good, and I had no breakage. Has anyone ever tried this and if so, do u still use a comb? Will doing this continuously prevent more breakage causing the hair to grow longer and stronger? I know some people don't use brushes anymore, so it might be the same for combs.
1 more day until next touch-up

I only detangle every 2 weeks, but I use a pick comb to lift my roots to sort of give my style some volume, but I don't pick all the way through it.  Finger styling works great as well, so I say if it's working you should be fine.  Finger styling should not cause breakage...but it might seem like more hair is in the comb when you finally do detangle - but don't be alarmed.  That's probably old shedded hair that never made its way out of your mane.   But yeah, I still have to use the comb.
