She has kept it as a one length chin length bob for the past few years.   Her hair is a mixture of white and silver.

Susan,
That is a good way to grow out the layers, Im going to
wait quite awhile before I trim the bottom length/layer, as it is only about 5 in long! Im going to
try and wait at least 6 mos before I go get a "cleanup"
How long is your boss' hair now? Is it gray? just curious!:)
thanks!

Thanks so much!  Layers are always a pain to grow out when you have them, but I have to say I've seen some people do it very gracefully. By only getting the layers on the bottom trimmed and letting the upper layers grow, you wind up with a gradually lengthening bob, which can look very stylish as it grows.  (I remember my boss (who is near 60) doing that, so she just looked like she went through a series of stylish haircuts, then stopped when it got chin length and one length.) Good luck!

Thanks Susan!
Went to church yesterday, and as usual got all these
compliments on my short hair! Never got them when it was
long as usual. Oh well, I try only to do alot to it when
I go somewhere. Ive got a long road ahead of me, I pray
I can do it. Its so layered and I can almost feel the
bad times ahead. I saw Susans hair journey, and wow,
what a great head of hair you have now!

Thanks! Since Im trying to grow, I will take good care
of it! Only style when I go to church and out, that being minimal styling. Ive come to believe short is NOT
easier. Live and learn. I like Natures Gate Shampoos and
Conditioners! Anyone else use those? And Pantene flex
hold hair spray. Not too often tho.
Thanks for the input!

  1. Don't cut your hair

  2. Take care of it

  3. Review this list next year at the same time

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

Hello,
Im a 47 yr old homemaker that has been trying to
grow my hair, I keep cutting it. :( Its healthy, thick,
graying,(tho people tell me it looks blonde)used to be dark strawberry blonde. I love reading all the forums,
and can use any support to stick with growing my hair this time around! Its short and very layered now. So, I have my work cut out for me!
