yeah we have the same type of thing over here - Shave for a cure  for Cancer.  People sponser you to get your hair shaved or coloured.

I definately agree that your bone structure than the colour that what makes a good bald head from a bad bald head.

My hubby shaves his head because he only has a little bit of hair that grows.  He looks great as a baldy but he has brown hair/eyebrows.

A wig is a great option too. 

But I'm sure if you visited the hairdresser they could do something for you.    Think about what your hair is going to look like growing back! might be worse than what it is now.

I think there are charity events where you can get sponsored to shave your head, and it's the money that goes to charity rather than the hair.

Definitely your facial features and bone structure are the most important thing to think about when shaving your head.  Unfortunately, it's hard to know if you've got a good head for shaving until you've actually done it, so I guess it's pretty much a matter of how brave you are and how much you want it.

I don't think the color of your hair is what matters.  I think it's more the balance of your facial bones and body type whether you can pull it off (just a personal opinion of course).  If you mean you want to donate the hair, most hair charities will likely not use the hair for anything if its very damaged, not long enough, or not in good condition. 

If you don't really want to shave it off, are you sure it can't be fixed?  Any hair dye disaster probably can be.
