I need some advice! I'm letting my bangs grow out, but they're not to my ears yet. I normally just part my hair to the side, but they're becoming a little uncontrollable. I've tried brushing them into my hair and "hiding" them, but I look really bad without any bangs or with my bangs clipped or pulled back really tight. Another problem is my hair is really thick and so are my bangs. Well, I've got this camp coming up, and I can't part it to the side as usual because they'll get all sweaty and frizzy and look completely horrible. I've been trying to part them in the middle instead, but since they're so thick, that also looks pretty bad. I've got thick, brunette hair, that probably comes 2 inches below my shoulders. I usually wear it straight. Now that you know that, I've got two questions: 1) What's something that I could do with my bangs to get them out of my face that doesn't look completely terrible? and, 2) Should I get my bangs thinned out some the next time I go to get my hair cut?

If you are concerned that you look bad without bangs, why are you growing them out?  Really the best way to keep them at bay at that length is headbands or clips/bobby pins.  If you wear a head band so that your bangs are parted on the side and laying flat, but with the ends under the band, they could still hang a little over your forehead, but they may have to be a bit longer for that to work - you'll have to try and see.  Otherwise, you can part them on the side and just use a bobby pin to hold back the thickest side.

Thinning them would probably be done by cutting upwards into them, or otherwise cutting them in layers in a way that is going to make pieces of them shorter and take longer to grow out or fit into something that holds them back.  You will have to decide how much patience you are willing to have to wait a little longer for them.
