i'll let you in on how i got my name (fullxdiva), b/c i'm in the military i wear my bdu's everyday, and my hair is usually slicked to my head but i wear a tapered fade in the back, and i get it cut every week, one of my top priorities, and men will ask me why my fade looks better than theirs.
so whenever i put "clothes" on and do my hair, ppl always think i'm dressed up. they see me as dressed up, i see me as comfortable and being myself. it's just who i am and the way i choose to carry myself, i don't dress and keep my hair up to impress anybody, i do it first and foremost for me, strictly to feel good about myself, and if i'm trying to impress i'll put in a lil extra work. but ppl always say look at the diva, here come the diva, you think you a diva don't you, and i say "full time". thus came the name fullxdiva.
so in saying all that, my point is that you don't have to wait till something comes up to be about you. make it habit to take care of you and your habit will become who you are. one of my favorite sayings is "if you stay ready you never have to get ready".
think about it like this- if you went somewhere and you were in front of a lot of people, (women) you were dressed clean from head to toe, BUT you didn't have time to get an edge up, would you still feel completely good about yourself?
When you set the standards you never have to compare or compete with others, it's yours they want to emulate .
thanx fullxdiva. its jes that my hair was growin in uneven in the back near the nape of my neck. i dont know y it grew that way. for that reason, i didnt wanna edge it up, cuz it would look crooked. so i let it grow so that i could get an edge that was on point by the time i was seen around alotta ppl. everything is edged up now, and i plan to keep it that way. so i was really tryin to let my hair grow so that i could get a good edge for my own self esteem. those were great words of wisdom tho, and i think that many others as well as me should of heard them. (females were all over me last night rubbin my hair.. it was ridiculous lol.)
