Hey,
I'm a natural brunette, but have not been a brunette in about 2 years. I'm only 19 and always felt like blondes have more fun. I always seem to get more attention as a blonde.
Every year or so I normally go back to brunette, back as I say it's been a while. My boyfriend has never seen me as a brunette and i'm worried if people won't like me with dark hair.
Anyway, my hair is currently very very blonde, and I have an appointment on Sat and i'm thinking of going darker. I need help on what sort of colours to go for. Although i'm a natural brunette, I have tanned skin, blue eyes and fair eyebrows, and not sure what colour to go for.
I really have no option in going brunette as my hair is in terrible condition due to dying it blonde all the time. Being brunette will allow my hair to become healthier and I won't have roots to worry about!!
Does anyone have any suggestions what colours to go for, and if anyone out there has blue eyes with dark hair!!
Nik

I never just get my roots done though. I am so blonde that i always need to have a toner applied as it tends to go yellowy after a few weeks. I also would save a fortune on salon visits as I currently go every 8 weeks. I'm looking forward to the change and I now it will be hard to go lighter again.
That's why I was thinking maybe a golden brown or something?

I currently have light blonde hair. I am naturally light brown. I went from a dark red to the light blonde(took alot of work and some damage from this process) I also have have blue eyes and tan skin and I am going to go with a dark golden blonde. This is what my light brown color looks like when I get alot of sun. I think this would be a good option for you because your roots dont show as bad obviously. =) hope this helps

dont go dark! blondes do have more fun.. then youll end up regreting it and end up causing more hair damage if you ever want to be blonde again. goodluck tho.

I you are not sure if you want to go brown again just get some golden brown highlights instead.
I was really blonde aswell and wanted to go darker, the hair would not take in any of the color. It has become to porous.
If you decide to go dark anyway try a demi or semi permanent color,
they will stick to your hair better and are more healty for your hair
at the same time.
Most of the times when people decide to go darker they change their
mind and what to go blonde again. Just in this forum I have seen so
many examples of that..

I know that's what I end up doing! I have already had some lowlights put through so that the colour will take at the next stage. I'm thinking maybe a golden brown, with some dark blonde through it. This will then still be a change but won't be so hard to get lighter if I change my mind.
I'm going to a salon on Saturday so maybe the colourist will have some ideas!!
WOW you are a great looking blonde... being partical to blonde I hope you keep it. When an ex gf got in your boat she darkened her base med. brown with bright highlights. Looked great and she enjoyed playing with the color of her highlights each time she had them redone. Everything from white to gold... even bronze once but she didn't like that one. Good luck.

I think you're going about this right, nikki. A darker blond with lowlights will look much more natural and be easier to keep up. The unnaturally blond look is not for everybody.
Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

Thanks. I think blonde hair is nice, and i suit it, but there's not point having blonde hair if it only looks nice for the first few weeks of getting it done. My roots are so dark and come in so quickly. I will save a fortune if I go darker.
I know I really suit dark hair too, I just thought I always looked weird as I have really blue eyes! I'm thinking golden brown, so hopefully this will look good!!

blonde hair looks great on you, you're really pretty! And I think blue eyes and brown hair looks awesome. I want to dye my hair brown and I have blue eyes, only I'm afraid, lol

Well, I got my hair done on Sat, it's bloody awful!!! I asked for golden brown like you recommended but it came out black!! It's horrible, far too dark, i'm so upset. Not only that, they got dye on my clothes all over my face down my neck!!
I've been so upset all weekend! I phoned the hairdressers this morning and complained, so i'm going back on Friday to get it sorted!! I'm so upset!!

omg what a shame. are you sure it is black? and doesnt just seem like that cos ur used to having such light hair.
thats a shame i was ging to say u shud give your hair a rest.
i know it sa bt late but i was going to suggest getting your hair down to a medium to dark brown except for a section at the front as i see yuo have a sweeping fringe.this would sofen your look and allow you to b blonde but in less damaging way . and trhe re growth will less harsh looking. my friend had this and it looked really good.
u r very pretty snd with having tanned skin you could easily pull off a darker look.and darker hair as you say will be less maintainace will allow you to have good condition helathy looking haur. which i bet youve never had as a blonde
yu will save a ton of money which u cold spend on good conditiong treatments to get ur hair in tip top shape. which i am sure will look much better than dried out hair..
tell us how you get on back at the hiardressers this wknd

Well, I went back on Friday to get my hair fixed and i'm a lot happier. They put small highlights of golden and light brown colours. It isn't obvious, but my hair is now a mid to dark brown and hopefully it will still fade out a bit.
I really like it and it's in great condition. They put some conditioning deep treatments on it so it's much healthier!!
Some people still prefer it blonde, but my boyfriend really likes it so i'm chuffed!! Thanks for all the support, now I can concentrate on growning it!!!
