Moisturize, keep heat styling to a minimum, protective styles, deep conditioner treatments and protein treatments, regular trims.

also try to spray infusium 23 on the scalp after you wash your braids and on the length of the braids daily to strengthen your hair while it is in braids. also continue to use a oil sheen spray like ors olive oil spray. hope this help

I agree about moisture thats definitely one of the golden keys when it comes to hair growth. Also for me its wearing protective styles, using less heat, conditioning/deep conditioning and just being gentle with my hair.

One,

I have my hair in braids now and the key like Browneyes said is to moisturize.  I use a commerical braid spray twice a day but I added jojoba oil for extra moisture.  I not only do my scalp but all the way down the braids to my ends.  Sometimes we only do the scalp but it is important to moisturize the ends also when in braids. I hope this helps.

Life is a journey, Enjoy the ride.

For me MOISTURE is key. My hair tends to get pretty dry, so I wash, condition/deep condition 1-2x wk and always keep my ends moisturized. Also protective styles, keeping the hair covered while I sleep (silk/satin wrap) and keeping heat to a minimum. I'm sure some of the other ladies will have other suggestions as well. ~hth~
