Hey, I was wondering if any of you guys know how to achieve the perfect smokey-eye look. I tried once but the attempt kinda failed...it looked like i had a black eye..lol. Any suggestions would help.
*hugs*

Well, I found that there were a few things which helped:
1) Use an eyeshadow base - something like MAC paints ( I use graphito and pixel for smokey eyes) or UD primer potion.
2) apply with good brushes!
3) Don't just use a flat black. For a good smokey eye, I use a mid-toned grey, a slightly blueish silver, and a tiny bit of black in the crease. Sometimes I add chocolate brown or maroon or even green.
4) Blend like crazy!

first try to line your eyes with a thick black eyeliner on top and bottom and then use a dark gray eyeshadow and mix it all up. (yes that includes the bottom).

I wear the smokey look everytime I go out at night.
The quickest and easiest way for me is to just apply a medium
shade(like a gray or a purple or whatever color youre working with) of
eyeshadow to my eyelid up to the crease and then to line the top and
bottom of my eye with dark eyeliner (black or dark green or purple...)
and then I use a small, flat eyeshadow brush and smudge the eyeliner by
moving the brush back and forth on top of the eyeliner.
The I use a matching shadow to go over the eyeliner. This makes the
eyliner stay put and makes it a little "smokier". If I have time I also
make a little V in the outter corner of my eye with the dark eyeshadow
and blend it into my crease.
It literally took me a year to figure out how to do that. And I would just spend my free time trying to perfect it. Good luck!
