Hey All,

I bought some satin pillowcases about a month ago and....................I LOVE THEM !!  Thanks to all you guys who made this suggestion.  What a winner!!

I don't really like doo rags and scarves and what not tied around my head, it's too restricting for me.

Peace,

~Qwick

I started adding aloe vera to my conditioners- i can tell the difference- the aloe really does moisturize my hair and scalp- i'm going to continue doing this on a regular basis.

RU asking me Layla? Well if u are, I sometimes use only 3 rollers (this really helped after I first got my touch-up), but now since the new growth is kicking in, I just braid it in two braids (one on each side) and lay down. I don't use scarves or caps anymore cuz they slip off of my big head , and the satin pillowcases I use work like a charm!

Well I was asking everyone. Thanks for replying. Where did you get satin pillowcases from? I've been wanting to try that but I don't know where to get them from.

Hey Layla ,

I am pretty sure that any of the following stores would carry satin pillowcases:  Strouds; Bed Bath & Beyond; Anna's Linens; Linens 'N Things...........basically any fine linens store or stores where bedding/household goods, etc.

Also department stores (linen section) such as:  Sears, Target, JCPenney, Dillards, Macy's, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, etc.

Heck, you can even purchase them online.  Go onto www.google.com and type in "satin pillowcases" and click search.  Many sites will pop-up.

Happy Shopping!!   Let me know how you like them after you try them.

Peace,

I totally agree w/ Qwickstudy! A good linen store should carry them. I ordered mine from a magazine I have called Cartwright Gifts. They sell all types of household items, so if u get that magazine, I'd recommend it. It only costs about $4 for a set of two. But like Qwick said, a good linen store will def work! Have fun and keep us updated on the progress!

i got liquid aloe vera from www.camdengrey.com  i got (2 ea) 7lbs of aloe.  here are the specifics:

< name= =http://www.bestdeal.org/Merchant2/merchant.mvc? method=post>< = value=ADPR name=>< = value=PROD name=Screen>< = value=Essential name=Store_Code>< = value=ALOE-7LBS name=Product_Code>

Aloe Vera liquid (clear), 7 lbs.

Quantity in Basket:none
Code: ALOE-7LBS
Price:$11.20

Shipping Weight: 7.50 pounds

Quantity: < size=4 value=1 name=Quantity> < =submit value="Add To Basket">

You will receive 7 lbs. of oil, dispensed by weight. Aloe Vera Gel, Decolorized 1X, from concentrate: Aloe Vera Gel, Decolorized, is a colorless liquid (this is not a gel!!) which is a highly refined grade of Aloe Vera Gel for use in cosmetics, toiletries and OTC pharmaceuticals. The process begins with freshly harvested leaves of the Aloe Vera Barbadensis Miller variety of Aloe. The inner gel (filet) is carefully removed to minimized disruption of the Aloin layer. The gel is then further processed to remove the pulp and fiber. The resultant gel is then pasteurized and preserved to maintain its efficacy. The gel is “decolorized” through a special proprietary process to remove the color bodies and reduce odor to ensure color stability and to minimize Aloe’s inherent pungency. It is already diluted 1 to 1 in distilled water. Some uses: Sun care and after sun products, hand & body lotions, skin cleansers, hair conditioners, anti-drandruff shampoos, facial moisturizers, shaving & depilatory preparations, bath oils, rubs & liniments, ointments, first aid creams, anti-acne preparations, topical analgesics. Percentage to use: If you are using Aloe Vera Oil Extract in a product formulation primarily to have it appear on the label, then concerns about the percentage to use (say below 5% SSE) are really immaterial. However, if you want the product to perform better because of the presence of the Aloe Vera Oil Gel, then try using 10% SSE or more. Storage: Store at or slightly below room temperature, away from light. If you want to meet the certification requirements fo the International Aloe Science Council, your finished product must contain a minimum of 15% Aloe Vera. This is a natural product which will darken with age. Protect from oxidation, store at room temperature away from light. INCI: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice. SAP value: None.

WOW - did you really pay only $4 for a set?!?!?!  I paid about $12 for one at Bed, Bath and Beyond!  Does this magazine have a website?  I have a satin pillowcase but mine is old - I'd like to get a new one.

Hello Ladies - I'm really curious about this relaxer I've some of you speak of (maybe in another thread).  It's called Phytolaxer or Phytorelaxer.  I saw it online - costs about $60.  If anyone has used it, please let me know about your results.

Another thing is, I go to church with this girl whose hair has grown tremendously in the past year.  She always wears is up in a "ghetto" up-do, but she had it down today & it is past bra length (it was shoulder length last summer)!  It seems kinda coarse, so I'm not sure if she relaxes it - she left before I could ask her.  I have decided to not relax my hair for as long as I can!  I'm sticking with using the Nioxin line of products.  I plan to wash & set with big rollers, sit under the dryer, then flat iron the roots (or use the hot comb - electric kind).  I really need some encouragement because I have been getting relaxers for as long as I can remember.  Do you ladies suggest anything other than what I plan to try?  Any and all suggestions are welcomed!  THANKS - I AM SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS WEBSITE  !!!!!

KBaby,

I paid $9.99 a piece for my satin pillowcases at Anna's Linens.  Like you, I am also interested in this "Cartwright Gifts" magazine.  $4.00 for a set is really a steal!

I wonder if they have an 800# or an address in the magazine where they can be called or written?

I've used Phytorelaxer. I really liked the results but I'm thinking about transitioning. The last couple of times I used it it didn't come out as straight but that might've been because my mom didn't smooth it good. But I don't mind since I might transition anyway. I liked using Phytorelaxer a lot better than going to the hairdresser.

I purchased mine at JC Penny during a linen sale for $12 a pair.  I love mine too when it stays on the bed and the pillow stays inside of the case. To keep the pillow from sliding out of the case, I got some cute decorative ribbons to tie the ends of of the pillow case. No more problem with it staying on.

Hey KBaby, Quick, and anyone else who's interested. I found the magazine, and it's actually called "CarolWright Gifts." Here's some info where u can call, fax, or write to them about obtaining a catalog:

Ordering number and/or info: 1-402-464-6116 (Weekdays 8 AM - 10 PM, EST, Saturdays 9 AM - 5 PM, EST)

Fax: 1-732-572-2118

Address:
CarolWright Gifts
100 Nixon Lane
P.O. Box 7823
Edison, NJ 08818-7823

Here's the website as well: www.carolwrightgifts.com

These pillowcases r great. U can order the sheets w/ it, which costs $20 alone, or just the standard/king sized pillowcases which costs only $4.99. These are what I have, just one set for $4.99. They come in various colors, including Gold, Ivory, Pink, Emerald, Burgundy, and Blue. I've washed my pillowcases many times, and they strong enough 2 survive through wear and tear, yet they remain as soft and silky as the day u first used them. It's a great buy! Hope this helps and God bless

Princess,

Very clever way of keeping the satin pillowcases on.  I opten for another way (not as clever) to keep them on.  I purchased some really expensive, kinda boxy, square shaped, goose down pillows.....the satin pillowcases stay on and the pillows are extremely comfortable!
