I read the Sedu reviews and figured what the heck, i'd give it a whirl..and boy howdy!  am i ever glad i did..I don't have to "go over" the same section 2 or 3 times (as recommended by the Jilbere), and i didn't see any breakage..

I wish i had gotten this flat iron before..with the Jilbere, i've had some breakage..after the flat ironing i would comb through and wind up seeing my hair broken off in the brush or comb..this is also because i wasn't using  a very good heat protectant as well.  with the sedu, i only go over a section once..and it's set..with the jilbere, i have to go over the section at least twice in order for it to come out looking like the Sedu's work..

It's very pricey...about $125..i bought mine from folica.com..  i am so glad i did...the other competitors are about as worthless as a low fart in high wind in comparison..

ok, you hilarious. you just made me crack up. im talking about the turd, fart thingies...

Good question.

I actually spent A LOT of time just researching about flat iron. I went to Folica.com..and they have thousands of reviews. The highest rated there was the Sedu, which I ordered and is coming in on wednesday. It has ceramic, tourmaline (sp?) plates and ions that supposedly make it superior.

I'll post back and let ya'll know how it goes.

As for other brands, just like what you guys have said...Solia and Chi are supposedly top notch. I've heard a lot of good things about maxiglide, but some bad things too.

I've also heard that the Ceramic pro is garbage.

I just bought an FHI on eBay and am waiting for it to arrive. I did a lot of research on the differences between FHI and CHI and most were in favor of the FHI. I have recently used my roommate's HAI flat iron and was very pleased with the results. Whatever you choose, make sure that it has the adjustable heat (as opposed to the fixed heat) setting.

Couldn't say; there's 4 or 5 different brands that people seem to do well with.  Sedu, Solia, Chi, FHI, and Maxiglide come up again and again, so you'd probably do alright with one of those.
Make every day you have count, before the time comes for you to count every day you have.
