Oh, the humanity....

6-inch long bangs and front sides with the entire back and crown being 1 1/2 inches long, the last 1/2 of which is fried beyond recognition. I took out my extensions last night, and that is my head.

Taking a trip to the wig shop tomorrow.

I'm intrigued by those natural-part wig links Metalgirl posted the other day, but can't find many of them online.

Any opinions on these?

what happened jenny? Im soo sorry to hear that.

I like the last two the best because I just like bangs and the hair looks bouncier and fuller than the others. Christine was good to except that it didnt have bangs to help conceal the line where the wig reaches the forehead. the Goddess wig is pretty but if the braids stayed in that would be a give-a-way but Im sure they dont . the Jackie wig didnt look as full and thick as the others andd umm I forgot what the carmen looked like oOo yea the maniquin is scary and the part of the bangs looks funky to me.. .but thats just all of my opinions. Good luck to ya jenny and welcome back.. havent seen ya in awhile I missed all of your opinions =)

Thanks, girl. It's so hard to know how they'll look without trying them on, I guess.

I do think the bangs will work out better, but I can't imagine how I'd look in them--I haven't had bangs since I was 6 years old....

I totally agree and I totally feel your pain.  A lot of the wigs I have tried on in the wig shop either dont fit or simply look funny on me even they look gorgeous on the mannequin.  I probably should get myself one to cover my ugly hair.

I like the long bangs that you can side part soo if you dont like the bangs they can easily be clipped back or somethin. I have bangs and I love that I can make my hair look like one length brushing them in with the longer hair or I can wear them as side swept bangs of in front =) more style options.

Lol your darth vadar picture reminded me of something probably of no interest to anybody but anyway the kid that played anakin as as a boy is one of my friends. He goes to my school and I feel bad because everybody calls him "Ani", pipsqweak (he still is short) and they all say he has a melon head ( its kinda true but w/e =P hes cool)he also ran for president dressed up as a jedi (lol I thought that was a bit much) anyway thought I'd share

Hey, sorry this happened to you! I don't wear extensions or anything and normally don't read this particular forum but just browsing today.. anyway. Is the current condition of your hair caused by the extensions?? Is this the norm for someone that regularly wears them? And if so, why would you continue to put them in? I understand how they can be damaging w/ the tension, etc on your real hair strands. Is this damage and fried hair caused by wearing them over an extended period of time w/o letting your hair breath in between applications?Ummmm... just curious. Hope you find a solution to help get your real hair back to a healthy condition OR find less damaging extension methods!  ~gl~

Hi Jenny,

So sorry to hear about your hair.  Here another link for the natural part wigs.  It's a UK site, but it looks like they do custom orders, where you can specify hair length, color , etc.  They also answer email promptly, so you can ask them questions.

http://www.newhair.co.uk/

I think it says they have a patent on this design, but I was thinking of presenting this design to my wig designer to see if they could replicate it.

Also, since you're in NY, maybe you should call Charlene, Cybermane, she has a shop in NY.  She does lots of work with wigs, (we call them 'hair systems' in the biz... just sounds better)

Good luck!

So sorry about the hair situation Jenny. Is this from that latest bleach episode you were talking about awhile ago? That sucks! I really like those "newhair" wigs metalgirl posted the link to. Those look awesome. The ease of clip-ons and the coverage of a wig.

not good, sorry about that jenny

BUT i have to say here: i love wearing wigs.
thats actually the reason why i cut my own hair short and dont
wear much extensions at the moment.
i currently have 4 wigs for my own...some more natural a black one
with green and a red one.
noone ever noticed that this isnt my hair.
(well yeah my close friends know of course ; )

im not sure if thats much of a comfort...

if you need help, i can costumise you a wig aswell : )
and can make you a good price.

sara
need some great hair?

Aha! A PlastikHaar wig sounds like heaven, Sara! I'll email you.

A "hair system" may be in order too. Thanks for the info, Metalgirl.

And yeah---hopefully I haven't scared anyone too much. My hair was growing out quite well with the pinchbraids; the fryage is 100% my fault. The bleach got caught in the braids a few times and just sort of sat there forever, which caused the breakage. I overlapped too much also, which is never good....

:)
