Hi Everyone,
I have really enjoyed reading the forums the last few days and learned alot!
Due to a medical condition I lost and thinned quite a bit of hair mostly on the top and a little on the sides. My Dr's. believe that the loss has stopped and some hair may regrow but they don't really know for sure what will regrow.
I am thinking of trying some small amount of extensions on the top for added fullness and would love opinions. I realize they are just opinions.
The three I have really looked at are prohair, microlinks, shrinkies. Any thoughts or ideas out there? Thank you all so much in advance!
There is a lot of great "method" info now archived on the Hair Extensions Archives. All of the regulars here have done a great job of sharing and Jenny put together a great summery (thanks Jenny) Please check out:
Thank you so much----- I have read that and it is fantastic. As usual I didn't do a very good job of posting my question! I was looking more in the direction of anyone maybe with medical hair loss or extreme thinning to see if anyone recommended one method over another in that case.
Generally speaking, extensions can't be placed on top of the head because you need to have a decent amount of hair to cover the extension attachement site.
Now, that said, there is a new method that I will be soon offering where the company claims you can fill in thin spots with the extension because you can do invisible, single (and yes I mean 1 strand) strand extensions in thinning area.
It's called Extend Magic, and we have discussed this before on this message board. My Extend Magic tool is in transit to me as we speak all the way from Korea, and I should receive it any day now.
When I get it, I'm going to use my hubby as a guinea pig and see if we can fill in his balding areas. If it works as the company claims it to work, then it will totally blow away every other extension method on the market.
I've heard you mention Extend Magic, but I didn't know what it does. Now I am very interested, as my BF is starting to get the Bruce Willis hairline and wondered what's available to help cover it.
I got the Extend Magic today, it's waiting for me at the post office!
Charlene got hers yesterday, and was playing around with it a little. So far she impressed with it. Hopefully she'll pop up and tell you what she thinks!
I can't wait till I've got my money for my extend magic, its so not fair. The Korean company won't sell it to me because I live in the UK. They've put me onto an english supplier who wants to charge me $1000 just for one machine, I'm gutted!
That sucks! Can't you pretend you live in the states and have it shipped to someone you know and have them forward it on to you? I'm from the UK so whenever I want something from there that they won't ship internationally I just get it sent to my mum and she sends it on to me.
