Hi all-

I got all 3 of my machines!  Finally, after almost 2 months of waiting .

I have to say that it is very similar to doing hot fusion except without the messy glue.  The glue is also not as hot.  You just align the hair and the extension, push the trigger, press to seal and voila!  You have the option to go 'auto' or 'manual'.  Manual is best if you're a beginner.

I must say that this machine is a must for making stick pretips.  It is easier than glue guns or glue pots!  I'm going to toss my glue guns and glue pots and liquid gold- for now

I have tried this with my thermofiber hair and it works great!  Any human or non-melting synthetic hair will work.  I just love the fact that I can FUSE ANY TYPE OF FREAKEN HAIR!!!  AND I AM NOT BOUND TO JUST ONE TYPE!!!  THANK GOD!!!

Even if you do not use this for fusion strands, you can make neat sticks for your metals.

I'll post some doll pics soon!  I'm still practicing on my other 2 machines.

I'm going to have so much fun and can't wait to mix and install all the different kinds of hair with this machine- WOW!

The only thing I wish was that this machine was smaller.  Somehow I cannot get close enough to the roots for extra longevity.  But if anyone can help this newbie, I'd sure appreciate it!  Thanks!

-Charlene

SOUNDS GREAT!!

Can Mr Lee or Anna give you the scoop on getting closer to the
root area with the machine? It's funny the machine looks small
in the pictures.

Can't wait to see how a full install goes and how it hold in the
long run and if there is any shedding from the tips....???

Please keep us updated Charlene!!

Hi S~A~S!

I'm gonna keep trying.   I highly doubt it.  But ya know with most of the glue methods, they are never touching the root anyways.  Although it does come with a little pen type tool.  I haven't tried that one yet.

The tips look great.  Neat, clean, looks like it came out of the box!  You really have to coat each strand with glue and then roll it so it's completely stiff.

It really has to take a good 3-6 months to really know the deal.  And I have to test it on several clients.  Not all clients are the same.  Some have A+ maintenance.  Some have F's.  Hopefully by the end of this year, I will know that machine from the inside out.

I'm going to try it with all sorts of hair and just keep practicing

PS. I signed the animal petition and will forward it!

the tips are looking.

I'm all ears about the new toys!! Thanks for sharing!!

I spoke with a very nice woman in Calif who has had the machine for awhile now. She told me the same thing that you can't get close. She pre tips with machine and installs with heat wand. I belive she said you can make a pretty big tip then cut in 1/2 that way you can make two at a time.

I have two wait till next week to order mine. Some one stole my debit card and wiped out my account it will be refunded next week

I am begining to think this glorified fusion machine is a rip off.

I was using it for only 1 hour last night, practicing on the doll head, and the machine broke!

The tape inside the cartridge got so hot that it melted apart and got all tangled inside the unit!  I bought extra tape cartridges, but they did not have them in stock and will send them later this week, so I can't reload this and try again.

I think this maybe another company that hypes up the product and it turns out to be not so great.

I emailed them yesterday telling them the problem so far no one has responded.  We will see how good they are with handling problems.

For strand applications, I think I may just be sticking with the shrink links!

That just sucks!! Maybe a godsend that I can't get to my money. I do have to say that the woman in calif has been using it and the thing she likes most is the ability to put very small extensions in bangs and you can't see them. She has been testing this and said  to tell him any thoughts so he can improve on it.He usualy responds back in 48 hours when I have emailed him. So I would give him a couple days. I so want this to be good. I do think it's alot like fusion but the removale is just like shrinks ( or so they say)and that makes it so much better!

Hi!

The machine comes with a DVD.  It also comes with a small heat wand.  What sold me on this machine were the samples I got.  It showed a perfectly aligned hair and hair ext.   It came in 2 sizes.  A wide one and a skinny one.  I was totally impressed!

I'm still "in the lab" for this.  I feel if those hairdressers who sent me the samples could make their's perfect, then so can I.  I am not giving up... not yet!

I think they are a dependable company.  I mean they wouldn't give out their cellphone for fun.  But we'll see...

Bottom line, I am much interested in companies who offer a method which I can USE ANY HAIR I want.  I love all kinds of hair especially the thermo and the cyber!

I have a guniea pig this Sunday and I'll give you the info next week.  She has strong healthy hair and claims to have A+ maintance... well see... She's a first timer.

Thankfully one of my D+ clients {her hair is breaking due to home coloring, keeps extensions on till they slide out, just wants me to stick new hair anywhere I can find an empty spot, she's badly dreaded but insist that I don't remove anything} are trying this with the thermo hair.  She doesn't do well with Shrink Links or Metals, but does really well with Great Lenghts, Ultra Strands, Cinderella, Cyberhair.  So we'll see how she does with my new toy .

Will touch base soon! Charlene

Charlene!  Are you the same Charlene that used to assist me at A.D. Barrett  a long long time ago?
If that's you, I'm glad you're keeping the faith. Good work.

I miss NYC like crazy, but can't live there now.
Having a kid will do that to a person I suppose.

I'm actually relocating to Albuquerque in December. I doubt business will be that great but I'll be happier.

Glad to "see" you!

What are you going to do with all your Seattle clients, Bridget?  Will they go see you in New Mexico?

Boy it's hard building a business and then moving, because all the clients can't come with you!

Just FYI, I am doing the heat seals and love it, and would be willing to travel to Seattle to do hair....

I have some that will travel, and I will also be coming back up here  a few times a year.
There is someone here that deals with Prostyles, so I'll find out their info and forward it to anyone that wants to know I suppose. He is furthur away from Seattle, but most of my clients travel a fair distance anyway.

It's really rough starting over, but I have to get out of here. It's way too expensive for me to exist on my own with the kid. I went through this same thing when I left NYC. I have major guilt but I have to life my life.

Glad you like the heatseals!

Charlene, who did you buy your extendmagic from? I was speaking with the guy from the UK, who wanted $600 for the extendmagic. He did say there was a company in the states selling them. I do want one, but not for $600.

Metal, sorry to hear your machine broke. Did you get yours fromthe same company as Charlene? Will they replace it?

I did get my machine for the Korean inventors, as did Charlene.

They are sending me some new tape cartridges yet, as that is what I think is broken.  What happened, was I was making pretips with some monofiber, and when heated the monofiber got so hot that it melted the tape in the cartridge.  Well, that tape needs to be in a continous loop to be feed through the machine properly, so when I tried to use it after the tape melted, I made a few more extensions, and then the tape began to wind itself around the gear posts inside, thus preventing it from advancing.

So the moral of the story is,  don't use monofiber with this machine!

As for pricing, I think that $650 is what Dr. Lee is charging for the machine.  I think they are trying to find the right price point, and that's why so many people have been quoted different things.  I personally paid $500 for the machine and $125 for 5 tape cartridges.

I think that the price range of $500-700 is perfectly acceptable.  Shoot, I have gone to so many classes that don't even give you tools and charge you $1500 just for a one day class.  You have to remember, whenever there is a product that you can buy to use to make money yourself, they will always charge a lot for it.

I think that Dr. Lee has spent a lot of money inventing this and getting the patent, so he needs to recoup his investment, it's just plain business sense.

That's a steal for $600!!!  I would buy it!!!  I got mine on an 'Intro Sale' price.  I got in trouble for telling someone how much they gave it to me-  so I won't say it.  Sorry...

But as Lisa was saying, they are finding the right price.

Speaking of prices, I'm going to take the Great Lengths refresher course and I wish I signed up couple of months ago for $150- now it's at $350.

Lisa- there is a 1 year warranty in the brochures the box came with.

I figured that the monofibre was the cause for this.  Thanks, I'm never going to use monofibre with EM.

Say, what if you try dabbing a bit of prosticks and heat seal to make pretips with the mono?  Mono turns hard just by heat.  Just a suggestion...
