QuoteReplyTopic: best clips to make clip ins? Posted: September 14 2005 at 10:47am
I thought someone said that haircandy has some great clips. And at 80 cents, they arent quite as expensive as some places, but is there anywhere else thats less? I am on a budget and want to make my mom some clip ins so the less $$ the better. Of course, I dont want crappy ones though. Also, does the hair type really matter with clips since she wont be wearing them for showers and yardwork and stuff?
I don't like the clips from haircandy at all. I have a lot of problems with them popping open. I have worn clip ins myself for 5 years and make them for clients all the time, so I know a good clip from a bad one, and I bought severel 'bad' clips from haircandy.
I prefer to get them from my hairpiece manufacturer, however, Dr. locks sells decents ones too for a reasonable price.
I have to agree with metalgirl. My clips from haircandy worked great for awhile. But the longer I have them the more trouble they give me.I can still use them. But i dont like to have to take extra time to fix clips that pop open. They were still better than the ones I bought from a BSS(every other one broke apart, lol). But there has to be more reliable clips out there?
i purchase clip ins from hairpiece.com. Just ordered another batch of
100 for $35. The best price I've found . And I've been using them for
over 2 years on/offand they still going strong, and still have plenty
left. I only reordered another 100 cause I needed black this
time.

I've been trying to research where to get some good clip-ins so I can make some hair. I've tried two places now and each offers the kind that keep popping open.
Hairpiece claims theirs doesn't but I don't know. I hold my clips up to the monitor and they look just like them; same placement holes and rubber piece.
Koffee, if you read this - do the hairpiece ones really stay closed for you? Are you using a particular size that you've had success with?
The clips I had selling on HairCandy were from Hairpiece.com so they are exactly the same as the ones they have listed on their site and the same ones that KoffeeBrown has. I too had some of the medium ones popping open and some of the paint chipping off after wearing them for a couple months. I've tried a few brands since looking for a new and better maker and I found one. Among the new products I've just gotten in stock are some new beefy clips. The are of the same design but the metal is stronger and the colors are slightly different. I was also given a better price on them. I put them up on the site tonight. If anyone needs a large order or wholesale order just let me know and I'll give you some prices. As always my shiping costs start at $1.99
Here's a picture of the new clips and new colors:
I took this picture a while back for someone but I forgot to post it. This is what the look like sewn on to a weft:
Just for refrence, here's a picture of the old clips.
