Ok.. we all know that products bought at salons are better than the products bought at Wal-Mart. Well, what about products at Sally's? Are they better than the ones at Wal-Mart?

Not so. Take Biolage Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner. This so-called "better because it's from a salon" line contains sodium lauryl sulfate, which is one of the most drying surfactant cleansers out there and should NOT be used on dry/damaged hair! Yet the Loreal Vive series (which you can buy at Wal-Mart) uses the far gentler sodium laureth sulfate.
The bottom line is each brand has both good and bad choices, and this seems to be mostly true for both drugstore and salon lines. You just need to dig deeper into the ingredient lists--past the hype and marketing promises of expensive brands--to uncover the truth. As for Sally, there are, again, great and not-so-great choices abundant. I really like the silicone shine spray I buy there, which I team with leave-in conditioner from the drugstore and salon shampoo.
