    Posted: September 19 2005 at 8:00pm

I just rec'd my 2 hair toppers from HairHumanHair.com, and I glanced over them quickly, and was so excited that I tossed them on my bed and started to fiddle with them.  On a closer examination, I noticed that there *are* some nits on it  ...Oy :(  In a state of panic, I ripped off my sheets and tossed them in the washer, and vacumned my rugs ..I don't see any live lice, because this hair looks like it's actually processed to heck (fine, fine hair ...I doubt coming from China, the hair would be so fine lol), but I'm still worried!

Just to clarify, the best way to deal with nits, would be to use the NiX lice treatment, comb, comb, comb, and wash a few times???

I guess I'm just hoping for a bit of reassurance, hehe - I've had lice quite a few times as a youngster in the village, and I don't think I can stand a repeat occurance.

Those lice are long dead and you won't be able to catch lice from the hair.  They all die if they are away from a scalp for more than 2 days.  I don't know if you really need to use a lice treatment either since they are all long dead.  I've heard that lice combs help, but I usually use my nail or tweezers and pick them off like a mommy gorilla.  It's so gross.  Washing doesn't get them out.  You have to remove them and they STICK.

Yep! Just scrape off with your nails that works best. I had them in my RK my Fina hair and indian hair I just got a couple weeks ago. Not to many though, maybe 20 each bag.

Aeone...no worries really. Like cherry said...lice cannot live off the scalp for more than 48 hours. The nits...are just the shells that are left behind in the hair after lice hatch. This hair has probably been off the donor for AGES anyway and Im sure has went through some kinds of sterilization and processing. The biggest issue that I find with the nits is just that they are a PAIN in the a$$ to remove!

well, on these hairpieces, i've got both the dark little oval nits attached to the root-area, and a few white dead shell casings :x

when i was peeping in earlier entries, i came across this link:

If you think that's gross, I got around a client's ear installing extensions and saw a live lice last night and it was pretty big, now I'm itching and scratching and itching and scratching and am sure I've got them now LOL.  I know its doubtful I have because they have to crawl from her head to mine and it didn't move that fast even when I poked it with a comb and it was the only one I saw on her head.  She came with her new boyfriend so I had to text her to tell her after she had gone LOL.

I wouldn't bother with a flea comb, best thing is get in the sunlight or the best light you can get and get those finger nails in there xx

Ha ha, its the fourth time I've done this lady and the second time I've seen one.  Seeing as I didn't catch them last time, I wasn't that horrified this time when I saw one.  She has loads of kids and she says there is one filthy mother that doesn't treat her kids at school so her kids keep catching them, and she's damned if she's going to stop cuddling her kids she says LOL xx

They aren't that frightening, they're just like a big flea if you've ever had pets, but they don't jump x
