broken right then and there when the round brush
went through!! myhair is now collar bone in front and

boob length by the end of the year,,am i sabotaging
that by blowouts??,,, i also noticed wayyyy to many
split ends today when i serachd and destroyed,,
should istop getting blowouts,, my hairdresser uses
a round brush without natural bristles and is quite
rough,, can this cause splits and tears,, if so are
rollersets better?... need advice thanx

If choosing one over the other I would say rollersets are generally better.
It's still heat if you sit under the hood dryer but it's circulating heat and not direct heat like a blow dryer.

Plus there's not as much styling dammage from rolling on a roller as compared to tugging with a brush.

But maybe someone has an even better option for you that will let you straighten it?

I don't know if you'll reach your goal or not but definitely get away from the direct heat and tugging. Roller sets are a better option.

I don't know how much you spend on blowouts and chemical straightening, but it may be in your best interest to purchase a straightening iron.  I know that Straightening irons aren't said to cause any less damage than a blow out, but I use this stuff made my Matrix, called Sleek Look Iron Smoother (It's in an orange bottle).  It's supposed to protect your hair from the direct heat of the Iron.  i also use a ceramic iron, which is supposed to cause less damage.  I only do this once every month or so, for special occasions, but before I used Matrix's Iron Smoother, my hair would have a "baked" scent to it, as well as feeling kinda strawy, even though my hair is very healthy.

Another option is the new T3 Tourmaline Wet-to-Dry straightener I've been reading up on.  I'm seriously considering purchasing one, but I just have to bring myself to spend the money.  It seemes next to amazing.  Here is the link:  T3 Tourmaline

Tell me what you think!

Haha, I took an involuntary hiatus.  Just been so busy with school and work at both places that the computer has been very absent from my life.  Anyway, all the while, my hair has been growing!  I hope to post pics very soon.  I straightened it today, and I can't believe how it's almost touching my shoulders already.  I'd love for it to get straighter, but I know, patience is a virtue.

I'll be here more often.  Talk to you all soon!

Oh, and let me know what you think of the T3 straightener!

Hi Tiramisu, that T3 tourmaline thing looked
wonderful, i looked at it a few months back and read
very good reviews,, i would hope it has a
temperature control dial though cuz i heard some of
the good ones dont,, anyway i also read ur posts a
while back too and i had the same thing happen to
me years ago and i panicked and went for
extensions,,, my hair is WAYYYYYY curlier and frizzier
than yours so can u even imagine LOL and i was a
sixteen year old who had to go back to school in less
than a month!!,, i have never let anyone put scissors
to my hair since,, i just trim my split ends with
eyebrow scissors,,, ,, anyway rite now i do have a
good ceramic iron but when i do go to the salon they
use both the round brush and blower AND the iron
so i figure i may as well just use the iron myself
without the blower and its working out great,, jus
takes me over 2hrs tho,,, still better than having
someone rip thru my hair and spending 30 every
week or 2....
