We're going to drive around and just kind of look at everything, soak in the sights and whatnot.

I've changed my mind and am taking my Plastikhaar for this install. I'd like to try the ProHair that I have but I want this install to last so I want hair that I *know* is superb. Plastikhaar is something I know is going to wear well for the entire time.

Here's my last install with shrinkieshttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/amm94117/phwear.jpgand I pretty much have the same colors; mandel, weizen, winterblond, satin blond, maybe some rotbusch as the lowlight.

Oh! I have some of that metallic bronze I may sprinkle in. It's hott.

Ass length!

Good Luck to you Metalgirl.   I have to say,  I honestly think you're paying a lot for your present space and should certainly feel free to shop for a better opportunity.

Your skin will love you for the climate change.  Cheers.

I think I heard she is going to Colorado, but I don't know when.

I wanted to try the heatseals one more time before giving up on them but I don't think I will have time b/c I am dyeing to get this Lush hair in (which looks and feels gorgeous)

I'm moving to Albuquerque, NM as long as all goes as planned.
Probably be there around Xmess time. This can all change though, depends on $$ of course.

Metalgirl, Pleasepleaseplease spend some time here before you move here. I'm serious. This place is depressing, especially in the winter time. I can't WAIT to get out of here. Been trying to for a few years but it's so expensive to live that I can't seem to save any money.
People are ODD here too.. but then I came from the east coast so who knows. Houses are also super expensive so keep that in mind. For what you're looking for even out in sticksville you're looking at at least $400,000.00  I'm sure you have done your research. And you might also be independantly wealthy so that might not matter! haha.

The last shop I rented space at was about $700-800 per month and I had a good deal.. also was in the city but still.

oh.my. GOD.
i totally agree with boogiemama. i just moved here (tacoma, wa) in march.
expensive, weird-ass people, depressing, horrible horrible traffic. oh the
TRAFFIC! yeah, spend lots of time to make sure you can handle this place!
i think tacoma is worse than seattle and it's subrubs. it's ghetto and you've
always got the tacoma aroma.

I grew up here in WA and I used to hate the clouds but I have grown to love western Wa.  I live in a little cracker box house but in a nice neighborhood (eastsider, I am! ) in the hills above Issaquah--beautiful. I love autumn here--the leaves and blustery days are cozy and wonderful.  Sure, summer doesn't really start until July but summer is soooooo beautiful here thru Sept.  Winter can be gloomy, yes, so I become very creative in those months.  I think the wierd people depends on where in WA you live--like anywhere.  I have this thing where I have to live on the Eastside (Redmond, Issaquah, most of Bellevue, Woodinville, Kirkland, etc), in one of those cute/quaint towns or I wouldn't like it at all.  I choose cracker box house to be in a quaint area.  I just think there is so much to do right around here.  I've always wanted to live in CA but it is less expensive here.  My hubby is from CA and he won't go back b/c it is so much more expensive and crowded there.

Oh, I went to Salmon Days to see a band play and it was POURING RAIN on us and it was sooo fun!  We were drenched though and through, enjoying the adventure!  I do want to move to the desert at some point.  Probably Las Vegas, maybe 10 years.

Anyway, while reading this thread, I just suddenly felt inspired to exclaim my love for this state...  But I do understand anyone wanting to live where there is more sunshine!

Soooo many less people than in California, though, where Metalgirl is moving from eventually.  The people in the area that I live are very nice and just really cool.

Okay, I know this thread has gone off on a complete tangent, but I wanted to say as someone who has spent quite a bit of time in Seattle over the years that I find the people are so much nicer there than here in the Bay Area.  Also, while there's no way I'd wander around San Francisco by myself, I have no problem traipsing all over downtown Seattle.

Of course, 90% of the time I've spent in Seattle has been smack in the middle of summer, when it's just beautiful.    I can see how winter can be a downer.

And the "Tacoma Aroma."  I'd forgotten all about that!  It's not nearly as bad as it used to be.  Heck, in my town, they've devoted entire city council meetings to determine why we stink...literally.  I believe the landfill and recyclery are the obvious culprits.

Anyway, to each her own, because otherwise, we'd all live in one really crowded city!

AHAHAHAHA I remember the tacoma aroma.  The paper mills would kill, everytime I went to the airport the windows went up and locked tight.  Its wretchid, like god ate a been burrito and let loose or something.

But other then that I love seattle.  I was born and raised there, and am getting so homesick.  Yeah its rainy but other then that I love it.  The people are nice, its a very liberal city, clean, and downtown in december with the christmas lights are beautiful.

And I lost my virginity on one of the piers

Oh, and here's a pic of seattle goodness...

The one flipping off the camera is my friend Dru, this was taken when I visited him last halloween.

The things that make you go "mmmmmmmm"

Well I'm back from my trip to visit the in-laws in Seattle, and we had a good time!

I like the city of Seattle, but I'm not a city girl, so I would never be happy in any city.

We spent a few days up in Sedro-Woolley, where my husband's  mom lives, now that's pretty up there!

If I could easily transplant my business and find a nice place to live, I could be quite happy in WA.  I like the rain.  Besides, property is a lot cheaper in WA than in CA.

I still do like Shingle Springs, CA though.  My town here is small, so there's no traffic problems to worry about.  And it is pretty here, at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains, it's just too damn hot in the summer!

Anyway, I'm not sure if we will make a move anytime soon.  It would be so hard to coordinate finding jobs, etc. I'd still fly up there to do hair though, because I have friends and family up there I can go visit.

shingle springs sounds like some kind of leper colony. lol for singles.

i did move here from minnesota, where i guess "minnesota nice" does exist.
so i tradded that for the tacoma aroma

we (bf and i) don't plan on living here forever. we're thinking of moving
tospokane, where he grew up. i never realized until i moved out here how i
am really not suited to live in such a huge city.

i think seattle is very different from tacoma. tacoma is up tight, ghetto,
stanky, and not to mention the 14th most violent city in america

I'm about half an hour away from you, if that. But if you're looking for other options, I think there is a guy in Federal Way that does Prostyles extensions, you could contact them. Vain does pinchbraids, they are downtown.
