How do you upload a picture for a customized icon and adding pictures to your posts?   Also how do you have a web address highlighted purple so others can click on the site instead of writing it down themselves and then putting in their address bar?

I figured out how to customize my icons, just had to hit the upload Avatar button.  Feel so stupid, thought the upload was something else.  However, I still want to know how to bring a pic. into my posts and websites.
