Blue Hue

that happened to my hair, too much greyish and it looked kinda blue

I just mixed together dish soap and baking soda and scrubbed it into my hair and left it in for about an hour. It did get rid of the ashey tones, but it was REALLY dried out. So if you do that you can to condition it like crazy after, but it worked

First of all if you had this done at a salon you should contact that salon and tell them what happened and they should fix it at no cost to you. If you push the issue maybe you could even get a few Deep Conditioning Treatments for yourself at no charge.

OK it sounds to me like your hair pulls color quickly which means its very pourus and possibly overprocessed. To get rid of the Blue Hue you need to apply a complimentary color to cancel out that blue. The complementary color is orange more commonly called Copper in HairColor. Obviously you don't want to put just copper as your hair could turn pink depending on the lightness of it.

Here's what I would suggest. You should do what is called a SOAP CAP for 3 minutes. A Soap Cap is basically color + developer + equal amount of shampoo (shampoo equal to the total amount of color and developer).

Use the exact color that you applied to the highlights....then in that mixture you should toss in a pinch of Copper......and by a pinch I'd suggest if you use 20ML of blonde + 25ML of Developer add  5ML of copper I'm assumming the color mixture is a 1:1 ratio which most are. Then mix that up and mix an equal amount of shampoo with that mixture. Wet your hair like you are going to shampoo it. Apply the mixture which you have now mixed with the shampoo and leave it in your hair for 3 minutes. NO LONGER!!! As if it's not gone you can always go back and do it for a few more minutes.

If the blonde color was a Level 8 Blonde you should add a Level 8 Copper I know in Goldwell color it's a 8KN that is natural looking copper to the blonde mixture. Also when you use developer make sure you use 10 Volume Developer....it's very gentle on the hair also. And after you rinse out your hair and blow it dry the blue hue will be gone because you neutralized it with the comlementary color of Orange aka Copper on the Color Wheel. MAKE SURE YOU ONLY USE 10 VOL Developer.
