Cool! I need to do that to my roots and 3 months growth. I wanted to go to a golden blonde, but my previously processed to platinum hair just won't hold the golden (yes, I've tried filler and it worked great when staying light blonde....but I wanted to go darker and it doesn't work with that). My un-bleached growth (3 months worth) is holding a yellow tinge and my 'old' hair is light ash with what looks like a few golden highlights. I like it though......I just have to get 3 inches at my scalp to match it.
I used that when I was trying to go blonde, it worked pretty good, now im back dark. It was very hard trying to go blonde and very hard to keep up with. I am so weird after seeing this and after seeing ur blonde after you used manic panic bleach (saw it in another post) it makes me wanna do it again. Haha but I am not going to go there, I will have no hair I ALWAYS wanna change my hair I am nuts. Your hair looks good, it would have been nice if mine would have turned out like that when I was trying to go blonde haha oh well.

Looks good. How do you use a toner and how long is it left on? You just buy a little bottle of toner and that's it? I highlighted my hair with a bunch of OTC kits (L'Oreal, etc.) and have some slightly orangey areas and the rest is a little yellowy - can I dab toner on safely? Will it help slightly orangey areas too? Last time I messed up my hair at home the stylist dabbed toner on some real bleached areas. I don't know how you use toners - if someone could give details - thanks! I can go to Sally's btw.

yea its safe to use... it says to leave it on for 20 or 30 minutes.. all you buy is the bottle of toner and a little pack of some powder thing that goes with it for like 50 cents.. honestly, i know it will work on the yellow areas but i tryed it once before when i was at the "light orange" stage while trying to go platinum and it didnt work on orange.. this is basically for people who have the yellow tone and need a little bit to go to achieve the pale blonde look.. its not ment for dramatical changes.

I highlighted my hair & decided a week later it was to light & needed more color so I went & got a bottle of the Born Blonde toner in Happy Honey & loved it. I guess my question here is how often can you tone? I highlight my hair every 8 weeks & the color seems to fade before then. Is it ok to tone when you highlight then somewhere in between? I dont know how the toner affects hair health wise so I figured I would ask.

After u tone once, you should continue to maintain the toned color with color depositing shampoos to keep the blonde from going brassy, usually purple shampoos work good. U could prob also do a monthly toning with Manic Panic's virgin snow toner which is just a vegetable toner/dye so its safe to use.
