Try asking on the Hair Color board here at Hairboutique.  There are a lot of people there that can help you with this issue.

Hello everyone:

I am a little frustrated because 2 months ago I had dyed my hair from light blonde back to my natural color which is Dark brown-I used Revlon's Dark brown 3N Level 3/permanent to achieve the dark brown look. After dying it back to my natural color I regretted it because it looked too dark. Yesterday I bought a box of Loreal's Ash blonde number 8A/Level 3/permanent, and dyed it at home thinking that it would brighten my hair a lot more and my entire hair would have one solid color (I forgot that my roots which is virgin hair had grown out about 1 inch)

But instead it made my roots a light red color and the rest of my hair is medium brown. I would like to now even it out but I would like to do it at home, so that I can save some money. What do you think I should do to even out the color, so that my entire hair is medium brown.

I would also like to brighten up my hair a little lighter than medium brown but I don't know what color I should use.

    Sincerely,

    Linda
