I know what you mean, for me the $400.00 I spent for heat seal for almost 5 weeks was expensive. By week 3 there were some coming out every day just at touching my hair, I made it last to four weeks and then took them out on week five because I would have to pay for the replacement pieces. I just decided that heat seals weren't for me, and went back to shrinkies.
It does sound like it's the glue that is the problem, I would try to find out where it came from so your sure not to use it again.

i dont believe its the hair, my glue is soft, and i can get them out my hair with my nails, i dont even need the acetone,, i believe they might have been a bad batch of glue sticks,,
i have globs of glue in my hair with no hair attached to them anymore, except for my own fine hair,,
i feel like it was an expensive ordeal to last only 5 weeks,,
i dont believe it is anything that we have done,, if we are both having the same problem, it is the glue,,
i am not happy, and not sure what to do???

Kim, you and I have are in the exact same situation.
I also went to Bridget and we used His and Her I-Tipped hair. I do notice a lot of shedding, tangling, and matting. But I trully dont think it is Bridget, it is the hair. The bond of the hair has discolored into an off white color which dont look too pretty. Right before this install I was also wearing GL. The GL bonds also discolored but at least it was still black, or off black.
Now with His and Her and into the 3rd week, I also notice I have glue stuck in my own hair. And each time I wash at least one will come off. Like you, I am also afraid to wash my hair.
i did contact her after the first week, and a few times after that,, telling her that they were shedding badly, but now after 5 weeks, i have no recourse,,i only came to ask here, to try figure out what went wrong, as she has no idea as well,,
That sounds weird! Even some of the worst bonds I've tried lasted at least three weeks before I was shedding badly.
By the sounds of the texture I'm wondering if they could possibly be wax bonds. I had a girl come in with a full head of those done somewhere else and they took forever for me to get them out. They were extremely tacky to the touch also.
How long did you wait to wash your hair after having them installed? I'm just wondering because this can affect the curing process of the bond. Do you use a round brush? I've found that customers who so shed a lot more than average from the constant pulling while the hair and bond is still damp.
I know Boogiemama does a great job with hair so I'm confused as to what may have caused this.
Did you ever get ahold of Boogiemama? What does she recommend? I would hate to see you use the wrong kind of remover and end up with a huge hairball mess.

yes i used STROH rum, it is 180% proof,, pretty lethal stuff,, i had a few drinks after sitting for 9 hours getting out the GL,, and was not well afterwards,, i did not realize that it was such powerful liquid,,LOL,,
but i think that i must try find someone in seattle that does not charge an arm and a leg for GL,,
rum? wow I have never heard of that, but I like the sound of it!
you could try some oil to see if it will break it down with out damaging your own hair, like the shrinkie remover, or veggie oil. Maybe you should try to find out what kind of glue it is first.

ok, so i went upstairs to get the shampoo i use,, Loreal Kerastase shampoo, and conditioner, and they cost me good money..LOL.. so they should not be the problem, and i hardly brush it, i normally brush the ends ,per the instructions that came with the hair, and hold my scalp while i brush the rest of it, so that i cant pull any out, and i have a boar bristle brush,, so i am really confused,,
i am thinking that i should take them out, and go and pay the premium price for GL,, as they stay??

Kimbers...absolutely NOT... the glue should form a hard bond. Some glues vary in consistancy and will get somewhat flexible. But should never feel soft or sticky. It sounds like bad glue to me...or something caused the bonds to break down
I think your on to something bird. The fusion chips I just got from hair compond recomend washing extension hair and diping roots of it in rubbing alchoal. some hair is quite coated.

There are a hundred and one reasons that cause shedding in fusion. I'm not going to comment on them all, but rather make an observation. You said that the shedding began on the very first wash. In my experience, even crappy fusion glues and overall bad fusion jobs last through the first wash.
That being said, I also have had fusion that sheds at the very first wash. Then I also had fusion by the same person, with the same brand of glue, using the very same technique, and it didn't shed at all. So what was the difference? The only thing I could say was different was the brand of hair.
What brand of hair was used?
I could be completely wrong, but I have this hypothesis that hair that has been coated with lots of silicone (or whatever other stuff they use to make it look shiny and lusterous) sheds because the glue won't hold the silicone. That's why I think some brands of hair have held so much better on me than other brands.
I could be completely wrong though, that's just my guess made from my own observations.
