Wassup fellas...been a while since I posted, but I've just been checkin the forum out & following the advice. Yall give some great advice here by the way!
Anwy how, I'm back fellaz!!!! Thanks alot! Now My pattern is as strong and managable as it was before I neglected it for months on out.
But back to the subject at hand..
I visted the barber shop saturday & cut my 6 week old "so called" deep pattern... Yea, with the advice yall gave, I was spinnin, but..my ish was reaal dry lookin all the time, & i could never get it to lay down for longer than an hour.
So I read one of the posts on here concerning which gaurds to use for a deep patern.. the preferred # was 2 or 3....but i seen someone mention about guard # 1 1/2. they wrote that that was considered as deep too.. so I told my barber to give me that.
IT LOOKS GREAT!
not as deep, but still spinnin...imma grow it for a month while shping up whenever necessary, & using soft til it gets longer & then switch to medium.
So...is 1 1/2 still considered a guard to use when getting deeps? someone let me know.
suggestion...this cut looks nice on me...maybee one of you guys should try it! like I said...it was a 1 1/2 gaurd cut...after a month and a half's time of growing, and brushing properly...
with a thin "chin strap" type style for my facial har.. the back faded... & MOST IMPORTANTLY.. the sides tapered off on the temples!!
I say that this is important because, when I was growing my hair for deeps...my temples kept rolling over to the ends. in other words.. i had no more room for waves on my temples...which left the ends of the temples, my side burns, and lower back of my hair looking nappy when i took off my du-rag...all these spots had to be combed aditionally.
thats too much work! so I asked my barber what he suggested..& he said to taper off them sides & fade the back. combined with a 1 1/2 cut & a chin strap, your a guaranteed head turner!

as far as i know, #1 1/2 is for the oster detachable blades. andis masters have guards that go by measurement. wahl's guards have a number system like oster but the measurement for those guards aren't the same. i'm not familiar with wahl anymore though b/c i haven't used them in about 15 yrs. i would say to use the 1 1/2 WTG only.
i posted the measurements for the oster detachable's, see if you can search on the net for the equivalent with your clips or your barber's if he doesn't have them.
yea man....I just signed up for photobucket 2day.... & tooks some pix....well....1st off...i been slackin on my brushin & these pix were takin 10 days after I got the cut..
2nd off...my camera is a digtal mini DV camcorder that takes really bad still pictures 3rd off...I have terrible lighting in my crib...but...I took sum pix anyway.
Please leave feedback!

your top looks good. still need sum work on the sides and back. ur hair looks like it frizzed out, so you might wanna try something with a stonger hold and spraying ur du rag with water.
overall, looks pretty good. keep it up.
