Maybe try on a wig first just to save you from any unecessary trauma of disliking the color, and strand test first. Also remeber that since u have lighter hair naturally, any darker color put over it that isn't a rinse or mousse is most likely going to leave a stain of the original dye after it has "washed out." This is especially true for bleached hair, which is quite porous.
When I first tried to dye my light blonde hair reddy brown with a semi
permanent hair dye it went pinky orange (dreadful!). I had to dye
it permanent for the colour to look natural, it was really nice.
I think I used a Garnier Nutrisse one.

I'm not sure if the color will "work out" for you only a strand test would tell. Also, red is a very difficult color to "wash" out of the hair. Some Demi's and Semi's can stain the hair, especially if you are using a darker color dye than your natural hair color. I'm guessing it would wash out later or possibly never.

I am naturally medium blonde, but want to go light auburn. I bought a 28 day wash out LIGHT AUBURN/SPICED TEA from Clairol, but read on the side of the box that if I am choosing a shade darker than my natural hair color, it will NOT wash out in 28 days. Does this mean it will wash out earlier or later, or does this mean it will be permenant? WOuld this color work out?
