there is a cartoon on at night named the boondocks. i watched it sunday night and heard them use the N word repeatedly. how does everyone feel about that?
lol i love that show...very funny. i just worry that the little kids watchin will b sayin it too like its ok. that word is becoming less and less offensive and is becoming part of everyone's vocabulary.
although it is funny, its degrading. i cant believe they put this on tv. the only thing worse is that it comes on cartoon network. although its during adult swim, how many little kids do you know that DONT stay up late to watch cartoons.
they throw the n word around like its nothing. its sad when im seeing white ppl on my msn list quoting boondocks with the n word in it.
its not totally o/t. this forum talks about black hair and black ppl as a whole. it will only seem o/t if you dont understand where p street is coming from.
it uses the N word. BET doesnt even use the N word. we're talking about cartoon network here.
rosa parks death wasnt about hair. but does that make it o/t?
i go 2 ways its a great show no doubt and its hella funny.
The good thing about it is that is shows problems in the black
community and in some sense it really details how black people are. in
fact i think it is on point. if anyone saw the r. kelly episode it show
how clueless alot of people are. It also shows no matter what black
celebrities do we always stick by them
The boondocks is very accurate
The only problem is that it is on cartoonnetwork

that show is very degrading. it is a bunch of garbage. how many shows did we have that showed the problems of poor black communities. we had good times, what's happenin. and talk about movies. menace to society, boys in the hood. we have enough rappers making songs about the inner city that no one seems to give a damn about. if some of you cats think the purpose of that show is to make someone fell sorry and solve our problems then you are lost. all of these comedians (dave chappelle, bill cosby) air out our dirty laundry to the public. then you get the white controlled media listening to what they say. they then make cartoons like the boondocks, video games like GTA san andreas & 50 Cents crap to appeal to the younger generation. the purpose is to keep us ignorant. raise a new generation of ignorant blacks. i can't for the boondocks to be shut down.

dam p street u seriously feell like dat...2 me dat show is funny as
hell...its funy 2 me cuz its da first cartoon i seen dat black people
is actually important in it, and dey actually have a big part 2 it...n
its just type funny...i live in New York, n das exactly how dey wud
talk ova here....its just funny 2 see a couple of 8-11 year olds cursin
n talkin shi* wit dere grandfatha
alot of ppl think its funny, but you have to dig deeper than that, and see the issues that are arising from airing a *cartoon* like this.
we show shows like this, then wonder why white ppl think its okay to use the "N" word.
only black ppl could take a derrogatory remark and turn in into something like it is today. if only we could retire a word, that would be the word of all words. white ppl think that they are starting to catch on and try to say it w/o the -ER on the end and think theyre straight.
alot of yall on here are younger or arent enlightened by wuts going on in the world, and all you see is the comedic value. watch it with your parents. theyve been around the block a couple of times and can see things for what they really are.
alot of them would be appalled that they show this on tv.

Cj0222 how old are you? i'm 29 and there was a time when i was a teenager and thought that shows like this was cute. you'll notice as you get older you'll start seeing the world for what it truly is. i live in NY also and when i see these rude ass little children talk like that i want to smack gravy out of there parents for letting them do it. that sh$t ain't cute. there is a post here with afrocentric books. pay close attention to the books listed from me and biggmike. there are others sprinkled there but few. not all black people think like that. you may not notice it but you've been condtioned by the white media to think that all of us do because that is your perception of blacks.
