QuoteReplyTopic: cold days = Knots in hair! Posted: November 28 2005 at 6:05pm
My scarf is furry and I wear it daily. I make it a point to keep my hair braided or bunned when scarfing, as I wear it in conjuction with a wool coat (wool = horrible for hair). The other possible solution is to stuff your hair into your hat. I also oil my hair in the wintertime which helps too.
My question is about the HUGE knots that I get underneath my mid-back length hair. The knots appear at the nape of my neck and they can be a huge as a lemon. I had to cut a knot out the other day. I think it mostly has to do with wearing scarves and coats in the cold weather, it doesn't happen nearly as much in the warmer weather.
Does anyone have any tricks that I can use to prevent these nightmare knots? I have tried wearing my hair INSIDE my coat, thus UNDERNEATH the scarf, and that seems to work, although it looks prettier to have my hair outside my coat, and I am also concerned about damaging the upper layers of my hair.
