QuoteReplyTopic: NEW INSTALL *PICS* PH Posted: December 07 2005 at 10:53am
Ok this is my first plastikhaar install im so happy with this hair after all this bad cheap over bleached human hair i tried and plastikhaar is in Switzerland… me too so the shipping costs are cheap too
the hair is on a weft installed with silicone lined microrings 3 tracks in the back and 2 on each side. I didn’t cut the hair didn’t blend or razor it
As you can see jenny_rr and kalika inspired me lol
Length is 24 inches style is 50 mm and colour is vanille
sorry that the pictures are so big...the quality is kinda bad too because my friend took them with her cell phone that are the only pics i got

Did you sew the micro rings to the weft? If not how did you install them? How tight to your head does the weft feel? And what about the ends, do you have micro rings right near the end so you don't have liftage (not sure if that is a word)?
gsmilie: yes i sewed the rings to the weft first.. the weft is tight to my head but im surprised how light the weft feels because its more hair than i normally use...i have microrings at both ends and it feels secure
How long will this method stay in your hair? Do you pull two strands of hair in, one from each side of the ring then crimp? Can you do this DIY, or do you need help? It looks like a easy method, and no glue to show thru. Sorry for all the questions, but you have intrigued me on this method.
Gina E: my hair is shoulder length but it blends so well because my own hair is thin especially the ends (bleaching)
gsmilie: i think i will keep this hair for 2 months...yes two strands one from each side thats the only way the weft is secure...i think this method is explained somewhere on the dr locs (guess i wrote it wrong) site...my friend helped me because its kinda difficult on the back of the head ....there are 35 microrings on my head
oh and the weft is doubled i sew them together then the rings on it
sorry for my bad english lol

wow! I love this..looks less of a pain in the ass them sew-in tracks...less pulling and hurting...do the rings kinda dig in or are they pretty nice and flat?
i cant feel the rings at all theyre really flat and after two days i cant even feel the wefts ....first i thought the hair is going to be to heavy this length but its very comfortable

so you sewed the rings on the weft and only have the wefts attached at the points where the rings are...no track right? I think I might have some try this on me..maybe it will bother me less than a sew-in..especially on micro-track wefts...is there more somewhere on this method (I dunno what it is called or I would do a look-up) thanks!
shan2525: yes youre right the rings are on the weft and just attached at the points where the rings are i got the tutorial from a german site (but i know theres one in english from doc locs or something like that)
metalgirl: thanks

wow! thanks..I looked at Doctored locks, they do a different way, I like the pics you posted much better. Looks much easier...I bet the silicone lined links would be great for this..cushion the hair in case your weft is too heavy or whatever...might give this one a try. Thx for those photos! added: could you even use the shrinkies cut in thirds for this too? Like, cut the shrinkies down, sew them on, pull the hairs through then melt them down? (i ask cause I have no clue what the thing to heat the shrinkies looks like, or how it is used) but maybe in case you are wary of the metal rings...would this work?
i really like the silicone lined microrings because the metal is not directly on my hair and theyre really flat and small so i cant feel them i i just got 35 rings on my head its much faster than installing microrings for a strand by strand install
i think the shrinkie thing would work im not sure but i think somebody tried this already ....ive never tried it tough im happy with the microrings because i dont need heat :)

I dont think the shrinkied would hold that well through a thread, plus you have the problem of overheating one, it coming off the thread then your weft is all messed up.
Dr Locks posted before on how she did a shrinkie track, then sewed the weft onto that. Im going to try that when Amms hair arrives.
wow it looks great! lucky you that you can wear wefts with microrings. i
did it one time but i had just problems with it... its a shame youl be so
nice and easy to change hair every two weeks :)
plastikhaar natural colors are just fab. i dit the same blond on a customer
and she just looks like an angel
