I too have a few phonyponys LOL, when going out to search for them at Sallys and any BSS go for one that is your hair color or the closest to it and close to your texture if possible...There are many styles to chose from and to get an idea on how it will look on you you can place it close to your head and look in the mirror while at the BSS before purchasing it.

They are not tricky to use, its actually one of the most easiest and convenient style ever..some you can just clip on or clipon and draw the string to tighten it.

Now my personal experience as well as my mother is to not wear in the same place/area on your head for a long time, its not a longterm thing just for those times when you have a bad hair day, or dont know what to do with your hair etc. Meaning dont go longer than a week at a time otherwise you can cause thinning at the place where the phonytail is at. Always keep your hair clean, moisturized and conditioned when wearing the phonypony and even while not wearing it. I havent wore one for a while now like a year because I guess I wore them out and I'm just not feeling them right now for myself.

No I didnt really see any major hair growth from wearing them..But thats just my opinion because I dont wear them like that anymore and when I did I didnt see any growth to really talk about persay. HTH

I have various pony tails styles that are fake.  I have long hair, but I don't like to comb it that much.  I have curly, straight and flips.  Speaking of buns, I have waved, spike and spirals.  I love fake hair pieces because they are so convenient.  There are various sight such as goldmedal.com and especiallyyours.com.  In New York, a human hair pony tails piece can cost in the range of $17 to $23.  Synthetic pieces can run from $10 to $15

i'm starting to seriously consider using a phony pony. i'm still natural  but i want to add more moisture to my hair, particularly the back. hair is still too short in the back to put in a healthy bun - it comes out thin and tiny. i'm considering buying one so i can do a constant baggie method underneath it but i'm not sure what to look for when buying one. how much should i expect to pay? where can i find them (i'm just thinking sally's)? are they tricky to use?

if you use one, please share your experiences and tips on these. did you gain lots of growth?

if you don't go phony pony, what made you decide not to? would you ever use one?

TIA
