QuoteReplyTopic: To those growing longer hair Posted: January 18 2006 at 7:32pm
I'm growing my hair long and it's in layers right now. I grew it from a crew cut, and now the back reaches my bra. The front is a little below my chin.
To those with longer hair, is it layered or one length? What are the pros and cons of having your hair the way it is?
To those with one length hair, did you trim the bottom layer as it grew? If not, what did you do?

My hair is 23" or bra strap length (when pressed) 1.5"-2" past shoulders when natural. The hair at the nape of my neck is the longest though, next the middle is maybe an half inch shorter and the front is like collarbone length. I didn't intentionally cut it this way, it just grew this way. Its like a natural layer (if that makes any sense) .
Pros: Its quick and easy to style when in a rush... just slick it and twist it up into a quick bun.
It can be worn down w/o the worry that the ends will brush up against your shoulders and shirt and cause breakage.
Plenty of styling options.
Its pretty!
Cons: for me; More length means more work.
Can sometimes get in your way and all in your face (but this is where that quick bun comes in handy)
Requires more product (especially if you have thick hair like me)
I think the Pros outweigh the Cons in my case
HTH!

My hair is pretty much one length except for some chin length bangs I grew out in the front. I think I willl keep them around that length though. I've always wanted layers but I don't trust anyone to cut them.
