Hey all, as soon as my supplies get here I will be doing extensions. I got bohyme hair and Amm's pro-tak strips.

Now Im wondering about shampoos and conditioners. I went to my bss and got s/c with tea tree oil. Any opinions ? good, bad or indifferent? lol

I know to keep the conditioner away from the tape so Ill just use it on the ends. I also have a silk leave in stuff from Neutrogena that I like using on my own hair so Ill try it out on the extension hair.

lll try to take before and after pics, but I usually get so excited when my supplies get here that I forget about the befores

Thanks

Em

I've used tea tree oil.its very good for the hair.I used the straight oil and found a little drop goes a long way.I think they will be good for adding moisture to your hair.

It's Nature's antiseptic. It has a strong smell, so unless you need to use it for dandruff or itchy scalp, you might want to use another kind of oil for moisture, like jojoba. Jojoba has a similar chemical structure as skin oil, so it's good for using on your skin and hair without getting greasy like using mineral oil.

Tea tree might be overkill. I used it when my son had bad dandruff once and it got rid of it in a week, but everyone at school remarked on the strong smell. Whatever.

LOL...I know what you are saying about the smell Syren!! Not too long ago I had an 'itchy' skin problem that no over the counter drug or even a few prescriptions from the Doc helped relieve. Someone recommended tea tree oil.  Well...let me tell you pure tea tree oil has a wicked strong smell...my daughter couldnt stand to be in the house! (And I could barely stand the smell of myself...LOL) Im dead serious, my house smelled so bad from the little bit of tea tree oil that I used!

Its the bss' generic brand thats supposed to be equal to Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner. It has a strong peppermint smell, Ill try it out tomorrow and see how bad the smell is. lol

YOu'll wish it was peppermint. Like Sherrie said, the real tea tree is very strong, and it's not peppermint. It's more of a pungent eucalyptus type smell but not as nice as that. Did we mention it was strong?!
