Phase V - Demi ’lifted’ Demi?

Yes ma'am. This is Clairol Complements Demi 10A. I figure if the natural growth fades/grows out darker, then I can manage 30 min. a month (15 for strand test and 15 for processing) to maintain it. However, with summer coming up......I may not have to. I'm in the sun quite a bit.

Ladies, no matter what your successes, I cannot stress enough DO A STRAND TEST before every process. Even if you find the perfect solution, your hair can respond differently from process to process.

OK, indoor lighting is totally deceiving! I've decided to post only outside pics. They are the truest indication. It's still funny how shadows and lighting affect our hair. With the same spot, camera and flash....I got varying results. I'm sure the sun had something to do with it.

I LOVE IT!

Although olor doesn't lift color, the peroxide in the developer and the ammonia (if there is any) in the dye will tend to make the hair lighter, but not in a predictable way.  Only toners like Born Blonde or ones that use NO DEVELOPER won't change the color.

I am dumbfounded! How many times have we heard/read that color doesn't lift color.....especially Demi that is deposit only?

For those that have followed my transition....the last phase was a combo of 8N and 9N Redken EQ Demi that I applied to achieve HEAVY lowlights. I pulled lots of hair through a cap. The result was the 4th pic in my signature. Although it was close, it was a tad darker and warmer than my natural color. I expected it to fade....but it didn't lighten a level, just got brassy.

So, I decided to use Clairol Complements Demi in 10A to take out the brass. I was afraid to mix it with 8A because I didn't want it to get darker. My family prefers the platinum and I was OK with my last result......so I didn't want it to deposit too much. I also did a full head application thinking I could take the warmth out of the very light blonde strands that I didn't pull through the cap.

Low and behold if it didn't 'lift' it! What did I miss? How did THAT happen?

I absolutely love it! It's a little lighter and I got the perfect amount of ash. I have zero grey/green and just a tad warmth left over.

Oh, and the guys (bf and 2 kiddos) are happy with the compromise!
