Thanks Tangles!  It comes from years of experience...more like lots of trials and errors! Wish this board had been around 7 years ago, I learned from my own mistakes! I think Ive just perfected what works for me and I dont know if the same would work for someone else, but at least if the info is there its a starting point for someone else.

Wowya and boooya!!!!! License, huh? Professional raining, come again?

It's truly stunning and flawless, Sherrie. And your tutorial is fabulous.

So, to recap...that's six rows, two wefts each (one triple wefted--one in the middle, yes?), three layered and three left long.

*Scribbles details furiously as totally planning to copy your look later (though I'll never pull it off)!*

By the way, I thought your hair looked surprisingly full and healthy pre-install, too!

Your details are to a T, as usually Jenny girl! The only thing I didnt mention is that I also always put a short row above my ears on each side as high as I can go near my part ( about 3 or 4 inches long each side) I dont count them as a row, if you count those its seven rows total.

The triple wefted row is the 3rd layer from the top, the very first row that runs ear to ear or the final *layering* row.

And YES...YOU can pull it off!

Gorgeous sherrie, you are my role model.

I just got word that hairsisters is out of the color of Pro-10 that I wanted so Im going to go a shade darker. A 1B probably. I hope mine comes out as great as yours.

And I do a very light highlight on the top and a few strands throught out on rare occassion, when I feel like Im looking a bit brazzy and need to brighten it up a bit. I used to use all #613 extensions and now I can use #613 #22 and #24 (Could probably start using #27 now too) Im starting to notice alot of improvement in the thickness of my hair lately, so maybe cutting out the bleach is helping.

Eventually (yikes) My goal is to get back to a darker blond/light brown with some blonde highlights, but my hair is so fried that I dont know if it would take color?

It will take colour, you might have to do it a couple times though. I've went blonde before (naturally almost black) and it's fried now, so it usually fades out really quick when I dye it brown, but it will hold. :)

Sherrie, thank you for these tips and pics!!  You are not overloading us.  I can't cut hair for squat, this is absolutely wonderful.  I've got to get a razor and get brave.  Awesome job!!  I wish I could mail my head to you and let you layer my hair.

I have not got the faintest idea how to cut my own hair I think I would be scared of cutting the hair extensions in case I made a mess of them.  This is why I am after bodywave or curly so I dont have to do any cutting or blending.

WOW, beautiful!!

Thank you for all the great info and wonderful pics!!

Quick question, do you razor your hair wet or dry?  I have been looking at my ends and they seem to be all split, could that be because I razor it dry?  I do use a new blade each time, but ??????

Also, are your wefts placed pretty much right on top of each other?

I razor it dry. I have 6 rows so they are close but there is some space between rows. They arent right on top of each other.

Ive been thinking about that hot razor that Amm has!

I know, so have I.

Do you run into split ends alot?  Do you think that razoring has anything to do with it?

I did a re-install on Wed. did it in under 45mins!!  Love the pro-tac!!

I dont notice as much splitting with Bohyme, but with some brands yes, I do tend to get split ends but Ive alwasy thought that alot of that was due to the complete "torture" that I do to my hair! But I have heard other people say they get splits sooner when they razor the hair. With strand by strand installs I could usually get about halfway through and do a trim and it was good for the rest of the install. Now, with using Bohyme and the Protac the hair I took out has no split ends after 6 weeks. A few broken ends, not much though. About a 1/4 to 1/2 inch trim and it will be good to go for another 6 weeks!

For anyone who worries about layering the hair, really it isnt hard. and if you only layer the few top rows it will blend in, you will barely see the layers, it blends with the length when its straight. So long as you dont make blunt cuts with your razor.( Unless of course you want more blunt layers)

You just need to start a few inches above where you want the lenght to end and make strokes down the section thinning the hair as you cut so its not a blunt cut at the end. (does that make sense) I do have a picture of my hair straight after the layering, that shows how well it blends the top of my hair with the length.

Here is the picture of after layering. It was half air dried then blowdried the rest. I flatiron my own my own hair on top to smooth it. But the layers arent choppy at all and blend really well.

Yippeeee....I made it past the 3 week mark with the half tapes! It looks like 4 weeks will a breeze!

Just wanted to update on the half tapes. They are holding just fine. They have slipped just slightly further than the full size tapes at 3 weeks. But still going very strong. Even the triple wefted row, which I was concerned about. I can see these making it to 4 weeks easily if not 5!

I will update again later!

Sherrie, you're hair looks marvelous!!!
You should be doing extensions for a living. You're really really good at it!

The first picture you showed of your hair w/o the extensions looked good. Before I read on, I thought you had extensions in.
