I wanted to know if these are what curls are. But, besides that I wanted to get some advice on how to get my hair like Craig Davids, below.

Yeah, those are curls. I think his are natural but you could probably try a texturizer.
Hair Type- 4a/b *transitioning front of my head*
Length-ranges from 5-7 inches =)
Products- Garnier Fructis S & S Poo, Lustrasilk Shea Butter Mango Conditioner and Cantu-Leave in =)

I'm not so sure you would need a texturizer.

If your hair is short and more on the black side than caucasian, just a little hair gel will make it curl like that. That's how I used to wear my hair when it was short. Softee Super Freeze hair gel is great to use.....I wouldn't recommend it on long hair though, because it takes a long time to air dry, and I hate wet hair on my neck ALL DAY.

If your hair is more on the straight side, I don't know how you could get it to curl other than a curly perm on rods.

If your hair is long, the weight of your hair usually weighs the curls down so it's more "wavy".....depending on the thickness/weight of your hair.

Would you need to use the gel when it is wet and plait it or not?  I'd like to get mine like that too.  My hair is short 4a/b.

You really just need to put the gel in your hair, run it all the way through, and brush the edges if you wish.

I used Creme of Nature shampoo for dry/damaged hair, so that kept my hair soft. I used it without conditioner.

The gel doesn't dry out short hair, but does somewhat dry out longer hair for some reason.

My hair is more on the black side. But even so when I put gel in it I don't get heavy curls I get small ones. And usually I have to fight with it. I want them like his

When I don't have gel in it it's a fro and it's pretty thick. Does it look like I have the kind of hair to get curls like his?

Oh, BTW, I've never tried this with any other gel....only Softee Super Freeze. So I can't say if it works with other gels or not.

The cool thing is that it's clear, so you can swim in it without worrying about brown stuff coming out of your head.
