I have now been using K-pak Reconstructor for 2
weeks and after the first week the breakage i'd been
having due to protein overload quit and now this
week i really have just about no breakage,, i think
that i wont be using Emergencee anymore since my
hair is in better shape now,, previously I would insist
on mixing Emergencee with EVERYTHING LOL,, i
would mix it with Redken deep fuel and also with
K-pak and use it alone but ended up with some
brittle breaking ends from the protein overload,, but i
think I will stick with k-pak which is creamy and more
moisturizing and it makes my hair soft but strong,,, i
think Emergencee should be used in emergencies
lol,, if u have hair thats extremely weak and
breaking,, hopefully i will not have to use it again

K-pak is a reconstructor from Joico( go to
www.joico.com),, its very creamy and smells like
banana,, it contains hydrolyzed human hair keratin
but does not make my hair feel stiff or hard but i
would recommend following up any protein with a
deep condtioner...

Thanks for passing that along.  I have a tube of K-pak ready to try out tomorrow and it's good that you had a great experience with it.

Thanks for the info. I checked out the site, but saw a whole line of KPak products.  Which one are you using?

I've never used a reconstructor/protein conditioner in my life other than having the stylist put one in after a relaxer. I've just started using Suave's Milk and Honey Conditioner and it has Milk protein in it. I also use a spray on hair strengthener.

If I use these two products, and I've never used any protein before and have had no problems with shedding or breaking, should this be enough for me?

Hair type: who knows?
Length: 23 inches as of 3/10/06
MY HAIR IS OFFICIALLY BRA STRAP LENGTH!!
Goal: Waist Length, which is only 30 inches so
ADVISE ME ON HOW TO GET JUST 7 MORE INCHES OF GROWTH!

I guess, but that is pretty light.  Not going to prevent much.  Consider yourself lucky that you haven't experience any shedding or breakage.

when i did the reviews for kpak, i found it is the alternative to Apoghee..

A lot of Aphogee reviews stated they didn't like the stickiness, or the smell..which i didn't think was all that bad, plus having to go under the dryer until it gets hard then rinse out, plus, afterwards use the moisturizing reconstructor that really softens the hair after treatment..

it seems kpak in contrast is more simpler to use, with far less time under the drier - if at all, and smells nice.

This may sound stupid, but how often should you use K-Pak?  If it is a Protein product, I was told that too much protein will cause breakage.

Thank you,

Shining Always...Humbly awaiting your reply

Well, I have been using it once every week for about
4 weeks now and i have less breakage than i have
seen in ages,, i am so happy ,, tho I am also doing
final rinses with bottled water so im not sure which
is helping,, if ur hair is sensitive to protein then once
a week may be too much but u can see how ur hair
reacts to it first.......
