QuoteReplyTopic: Rinsing out shampoo/conditioner Posted: December 29 2002 at 3:25pm
Hi ^^
Every time I use shampoo, I`m sure I haven`t rinsed all of it out...it usually starts to foam up again when I use conditioner. I have long hair (hip length) and I do spend at least 15-20 min rinsing out the shampoo but it never completely goes away. I`ve tried clean rinse shampoos like Neutrogena and they do the same thing, perhaps even worse. Another factor: we have hard water in this region but there`s water conditioner in our basement. Anyone else have this shampoo problem, and does anyone know how I could fix this (good mild shampoo, etc?) thanks

It doesn`t matter what the natural state of the water is in your area, because if you have a water softener, your water is soft. Judging by your descriptions of the results, I am convinced that your water is indeed soft.
I agree with Gren. You`ll want to dilute your shampoo. Use an empty bottle, squirt a *small* amount of shampoo into it, then add water (approximate 10-1 ratio of water-shampoo, or maybe even more water). Experiment to find the right ratio for your hair`s needs. Apply to the scalp, suds the scalp, and let the suds rinse through the length of your hair -- there`s probably no need to apply any to the middle or especially the ends of your hair.
