well PICKELED, glad u see my viewpoint. that 'soul glo' look is not cute! especially in hot places like htown where i am from. i personally do not use a blwo drier cuz then i fro out since my hair is naturally frizzy anywayz. i air dry but use sum moisturizer while it is a little damp and wrap it up.

One day won't hurt. It's the repetition of bad acts that damage hair, IMO.

I would most likely wear a wig. About a year and a half ago I gave my flat iron away.  Shoot, I feel horrible when I use a blow drier on my hair.  So a wig would work for that occasion.

Wow!  Did they change the look of this ole thing?  Looks a lot different.  Anyhow, I can't even begin to explain how fast I would put a flat iron to my hair at the last minute!  Taggi, I am starting to realize your ideology when it comes to using multiple products.  I use about 3 products every day, but I believe I'm using way too much for my hair.  I get that nasty residue when I touch it, and it gets onto papers, like Soul Glo.  HAHA! I just want nice smooth hair, which I used to have until my flat ironed started pooping out!  80 bucks for a few months of NOTHING.  Maybe I just need a good ole' blow dry, I have been sparing myself for the last three weeks with air driesDead!  I hate it.  This week I totally sacrficed what little hair health I had and flat ironed 3 times.  My hair was in a rut, with new growth!

well i dont thing flat ironing always damamges. as long as u use the rite products and correctly apply the heat, then u should be fine. i know plenty of ppl that flat iron often and their hair is still healthy. the damaging part comes when we buy millions of products, combine products together thinking it will help, and use 2 many tools 2 get a look. i,myself, would not sacrifice my hair by treating it like a guinea pig and using several products 2 see which 1 works. if u think about it, most of the products have the same ingredients,so i try 2 narrow it down to 3 things. yep, the magic number is 3!!

ITA.  I don't think one day of using heat outside of your normal regimine would be too bad as long as you're careful.  Shoot, if my hair was lookin tore up and I had to go somewhere you're doggone right I'd break out that flat iron.

Well i don't flat iron my hair . I would tried to stick at it to do the best i can may be buss fro and go if need be . I wouldn't do it now but there have been a few occasions that i missed because my hair was not on the pulse like it needed a wash and a style. I soooo hate when something comes up and you got to a last minute.com on your hair . I'm a bit more versatile now so i got a few last minute.com styles up my sleeve just in case like a fro all out thing  Dont look a me i'm shy

Would You Sacrifice The Health Of Your Hair?

Suppose you had some important event(date, banquet, etc.) to go to which came up at the last minute.  You look in the mirror and your hair is just out of control, and not going your way. The only way to whip things into a decent fashion is to flat iron(or any form of styling that damages) it out with some good ole' grease, or whatever you use. Your on a no heat regimen. Would you skip the thing because of the health of your hair, or flat iron A.S.A.P? What would you do?

PS: Thought this would be funny discussion.
