QuoteReplyTopic: Blond dye turned my hair orange! Posted: May 29 2006 at 7:48am
Hey guys. My first post here, hello!
I dyed my fair-brown hair blond the other day. I used Schwarzkopf LIVE Ultra-Lightener. I know nothing about hair colouring. This was probably a silly idea.
Basically, its gone a bit orange. Not majorly, it just looks like a bit gingery tint. The dye has hydrogen Peroxide, so i think it is a bleach not just a dye.
So, if i want it to go bleach-blond-white or a more natural blond colour, what can I do? Repeat with the same stuff or ring a salon?
Blonde dyes usually do have lightening ability via peroxide. To
go bleach blonde you will either have to use a bleach kit, then tone it
(because it will come out yellow after the bleach alone, so you will
need a violet toner to put over it afterwards), or depending on if your
hair is light enough now, you may be able to get there with a high lift
dye. You would need a dye with a blue base to counter the orange
you have now (without that, it will go more orange next time you do
it). If you want to learn all of this kind of stuff, read more here on
the hair color board before acting, if you don't, a salon is the
easiest thing.
