I hate to say this but the only way to get super curly hair is to get a perm. And if you get a perm you are going to have to take very good care of it. Perms last for months. The roots won't start showing until six months. And if you don't want to touch it up, you'll be half curly half straight for months.I would go for looser waves. They are really hot right now. Or play up your straight hair! Nothing is wrong with straight hair.

when its wet you could either use a scrunching gel, or roll it up it in rags. But please don't get a perm it is so damaging and if you don't like it there's no going back for a while. Or you could purchase the book Curly Girl by Lorraine Massey and this works even for the straight hair. there's a pic. at the back of the book that shows how a girl with stick-straight strands ent to waves which is easily converted to curls
