On Ceramic Ion Straighteners

That friend of yours is very wise Katja, heat tools is verry outdated and the ceramic flatirons are far superior. But  hey dont just take my word for it do some research. I style my (thick and slightly wavy) hair sans heat most of the time, but on very rare special occasions I like to straighten it with a flat iron.  However, the iron I have doesn't really get the job done... it keeps my waves intact and causes a lot of damage in a very short amount of time (although now that I use heat protector spray the damage isn't really an issue).  Anyway, I really don't know the first thing about heat tools, but I've heard from various friends that my straightener is quite outdated.  Someone suggested buying a ceramic ion straightener because apparently they don't cause as much damage and they do a better straightening job.
