Hi.
I have thick, wavy, tangly hair that's a little bit past shoulder length. I intend to grow it out to weigh it down. However, the onslaught of summer humitidy has made its thickness a lot harder to deal with, making me considering having my hair thinned. I've had this done before, but I'm not exactly sure what side effects thinning has. Will getting it done now hinder the growing out process?

Thanks, Kate

I've heard a lot of bad things about your hair getting thinned, so I am not sure if I would recommend that. However, I would recommend you get layers in your hair. I hate to say this, but for most people, one length wavy and curly hair is too much too handle. You don't have to get a ton of layers, but getting layers will definitely make your hair more manageable. I know from experience.  Summer can be brutal on our types of hair.
DANGER! I drive like you do.
