QuoteReplyTopic: How much hair Posted: June 22 2006 at 7:05am
Hi,
I have currently installed 50 Great Lenghts hair extensions. It's just for body & a bit of lenght. As Great Lenghts is getting rather expensive, I would like to try to do it myself with tape or glue.
How much hair should I approx get if I want to get wefts. I don't want to overdo it.
As I have very fine hair & l like to straighten or curl the hair, what hair should I go for?
Cheers, -Inge

Most of the time, wefts are sold in 4 ounce packages. (the exception to this is Jetset Extensions, which sell in two ounce quantities)
Anyway, most people use between 4-8 ounces of hair, but if you are only looking for fullness and no additional length, you may be able to get away with only using two ounces.
Good luck! I'm sure you'll like the Protac tape and you'll find it very easy to do and easy on the wallet!
i would suggest going ahead and ordering at least 4oz, once you see the difference with wefts you will proably WANT to go 'overboard' and have that super-full hair!! Protac is very easy (just need to have plenty of mirrors to see the back of your head, or a friend to help you).....i can recommend from my own use:Bohyme straight or bodywave,RKhairproducts 'straight single drawn remy' (they should rename that 'our good hair'), or jetsetextensions bodywave...recently people have had problems with jetset's customerservice

I live at the beach & go swimming a lot, would it be better to go for the glue (LG) option or would the protec stay in my hair as thorough as well? Wouldn't like to come out of the water with my extention floating away

my bohyme wefts just arrived, this is the first time I've ordered hair on my own, and let me tell you, 4oz is a lot of hair for me! It was so heavy as i was holding it in my hand, maybe it seemed that way because I'm used to light synthetic hair.
