Long hair options for men

If you could post instructions on braiding, that would be helpful. I've tried it once or twice, but I feel like I need four or five hands in order to accomplish it. I think once it gets long enough where I could do it in front of me, instead of reaching behind my back, it would get easier. Thanks for your help.

This thread started awhile ago, but here goes:

I am in a similar situation. I have mid-back length hair. My experience has been that if your employer, colleagues, etc. are OK with shoulder blade length hair, they would be OK with mid-back length or waist length, as long it always looks clean and well cared for.

I too am curious about other styles. I have always worn it loose or simple ponytail. I don't have the time or know-how to braid it, nor do I know someone to do it for me. Sometimes I would like to wear it up, just to have it out of the way for awhile, and for something different. As it gets longer, it's becoming more of an issue.

Keep your Neck and Burns clean and neat. Keep your ends clean cut healthy. When I say clean, I'm talking trimmed or edged no short stuff messing up your perimiter lines.

Then.... I think adding some style with your side burns or a very closely trimmed beard or facial hair, you know something really artistic. You've got the background in art use your imagination. And of course, the clothes to go with it!

The key to pulling a look off, is that it has to look diliberate like a Style that you chose...It can't just look like "Oh, Yeah...I guess I'll grow my hair long." Make A Statement.

Grow your hair out. Long hair is sexy on a guy. My fiancee has long hair past his shoulders and I wear my hair in a short pixie. It is an individual preference on both of our parts. And we like each other this way.
Who makes the rules. In America we have freedom. You should decide what length you want your hair. If it is neat and clean you should have no trouble professionally. I have seen guys with very long hair before in various jobs.

Waist length hair would be VERY SEXY on a guy but I must warn you as someone who once had hair that was waist length, it takes a GREAT AMOUNT OF MATIENANCE to keep hair that long looking good.

Nonetheless I say GO FOR IT!

I hope Long Hair Support supports guys too! I think we need it even more than the women do! :) Anyway, I need your opinions on this:

I''m a 26 year old guy and I have shoulder blade length hair, somewhat wavy. My desired goal is waist length. It seems like women have endless styling options for their long hair, yet for men it seems to be limited to loose or ponytail. As it gets longer, do I have any additional options that are masculine, professional (for when I go to my job as a graphic designer), and stylish?

Also, even if my hair looks clean and otherwise professional, is there a limit to how long I should grow my hair? I don''t run into any problems now. However, if I grow it to my waist, I wouldn''t want the length to impede my career or somehow tarnish my professional image, even in a liberal field such as mine.
